Peterborough Petes 2024-25 Season Thread, Part II

Gabbing the arm of a player and pulling them back is apparently not a penalty, and then go and score. Happens far too often, missed penalty into a goal.

Faulkner is still the only player on the team with a positive +/-. He’s not lighting the league up in scoring but on a team littered with double digit negatives it’s a bright spot at the least.
So that game there should prove that Rye is the guy moving forward for the next 9 games. Great game with all the players mIssing. Didn’t see much of a 1-1-3 tonight which should tell the coaches something and a shout-out to Faulkner adding two points and also adding to his +/- side. AP’s showed reasonably well for their first games but can tell speed of game was a factor. Taylor on in OT against Lardis is a mismatch and it proved costly. Moving forward, big game tomorrow

As per usual, no info on why. Wtf is going on. I can’t believe it was a hair pull to get two games, you’d think that would require some loose scalp or something... to think there’s still another game this weekend...

Braydon Mccallum has spent more time under suspension, injured or in the penalty box than on the ice and he could be a real asset if he would just play the game. He does have ability.

Braydon McCallum is totally blackballed in this league it’s a true travesty n the Pete’s are look ing into this and have put in a complaint with the league
He also takes more punishment than anyone and there are no calls because it's McCallum. His history of diving doesn't help, but he gets hit in the face so often and it's almost never called.

...for that to be a game the rule specifies that there's an injury from it.
Well, it made it to the API (not all of them seem to) and it looks like it was indeed for a hair pull. Apparently the "specifically when injury results" is a loose interpretation since Crombie was more than happy to grandstand and seemed perfectly fine afterwards.

More of the same from Marentette and Strohack. Legit teams and players shouldn’t have to subject themselves to those hacks. Just suspend them for the season.

Guy on Instagram said #18 Parish tripped Eries goalie at the start of the timeout. Anyone else see that? (that was at game)
That seems to be what's going around as the reason, but at the same time, you would think the guys on commentary would have mentioned it. Even if they didn't see it themselves someone on the media team (cams/trailer) could have mentioned it in their ear. The other thing that seems a little off from that is why wait till the faceoff and not when it happened? Wasn't there so no idea, just weird. Wild weekend.

That’s exactly what happened. He also did it when Burns was announced to come onto the ice as the starter before the game even started.

He fell straight onto his pads during the TV timeout. Our coach was trying to wheel them in, but they wanted to take care of business.

Our cameras are so bad at the arena, it probably would’ve taken 7-10 business days to catch it.

I have no idea if Parish tripped the Erie goalie during the timeout or not but from what I've seen over the past several games is that other teams go after Parish in a similar way that they go after McCallum. Anybody else notice that other teams are going out of their way to hit or do damage to Parish?
Parish is a dirty player, stickwork all over the ice, all night long.

The McCallum conversation in here is hilarious, of course he doesn't get calls from the refs, he dives 10x a game, it's 100% on him, he's done it to himself.

Hopefully they left Wilson at the border, he can stay down there with his beloved Trump.

McCallum takes a lot of damage because he plays a reckless style of hockey.
He seems like a decent kid speaking with him but after 3 years in the league and still not being able to figure out how to walk the line without crossing it I'm not sure he ever will.

I think what we are witnessing in Peterborough is several kids that are not good enough to be in the league trying to establish a role for themselves to be totally blunt about it.
Parish, Marrentette, Kaiser likely not good enough to hold a roster spot on any other team are just doing whatever they can to try and be relevant at this point.
The discipline on this is really showing its true colors as of late.

Seems to be a handful of guys on the team who like to run their mouth every game but yet haven’t proved anything in the league and a couple of them have no business being in the ohl
