While I do agree Taylor should be using the scary shot he has rather than the overly fancy stuff, he's already our best guy in the shootout (he was tied for most shootout goals in the league after the last shootout). After the way he started the season, it seems he's starting to get his confidence back. While it sucks when it doesn't work out I'd rather him give it a try from time to time now than start to in a year when it matters more. While he's skilled enough to do it, he has in camp, he's not treating it like a go-to move and failing it every time. What we truly need is someone, ANYONE, else to score in a shootout if we happen to end up there. Taylor is now 3/6, and the rest of the team is 0/13.
Not sure why they went back to the 2 D in overtime. I thought they had finally moved on from that, but I guess not. They were a completely different team between scoring the first goal and the start of overtime. They need to play that way for 60 minutes and overtime, let alone a shootout, shouldn't be needed.
