Any reason why he isn't playing with anyone, last played on the Kloten team in the Swiss league, but he is no longer on the roster. Is he a UFA and if so why not take a flyer on this kid?

I'm really surprised nobody signed him.

But he's ultra injury prone.

I can't think of a better reason really.

33 pts 18 goals in 39 games

maybe a team signs him as depth before the trade deadline..

this seems like a Sather type move. wasnt Sather interested in him when he was drafted by the Coyotes??

Mueller was a guy that the Rangers were interested in for quite a while.

I think the reason no one took a chance on him was the way he finished in Florida. Mueller was never the greatest skater, so he had to rely on instincts to get in to positions to score. Rocket of a shot, too.. He seemingly fell behind after missing all that time.

I remember all of the Sanguinetti for Mueller rumors.

I remember hearing rumors we were interested in this guy. I would think if he was available we would have at least invited him to training camp to compete for a spot. Is he retired or does he still want to play?

Isn't this guy yet another "enigma" that a lot of teams don't want to take a chance on? Skilled kid, poor attitude and work ethic, etc? I remember that being the buzz on him a couple of years ago the last time I heard his name. No more Enver Lisin/Zherdevs/etc pls.

his skating is weak.

and um.... where did this come from ?

but this lisin kid that was mentioned below ? im interested.. tell me more :sarcasm:

I'd rather re-sign Pouliot. Otherwise, it's turnover for the sake of turnover.

There are concerns about his desire to play the game of hockey. I don't think he gets another NHL deal unless its with a new expansion team for a year or so.

He's just about as inconsistent as Pouliot and they're probably even in skill. Where is the upgrade? It would be a move just to make a move.

I can see that argument, and arguing skill is so subjective it is hardly worth the time. If you find them to be about even I absolutely see where youre coming from. I think Mueller has looked terrific and been shafted on his point total due to absolutely no help, but I have nothing to base that on except my personal view. Oh, and I do seem to remember that his Corsi and Fenwick is excellent, but dont hang me if I am wrong.

Also, since he played in another league this year if we signed him to a contract he would have to pass through waivers. Could be a good reason that nobody has signed him.

I think NHL GMs are trying to do him a favor. He's one hit away from being permanently damaged for the rest of his life.

But hey, if the Rangers are going to throw him a contract, then we might as well be talking about Sauer too.
