after reading this thread, pretty sure you guys have James Sheppard 2.0

Players that show ample skill but still somehow manage to underpeform are interesting, and common. Even Sheppard was just starting to turn a corner, but we'll see what happens now, an injury and offseason later

While this is a possiblity, it's a bit of a stretch - quite a stretch. Sheppard has had enough time to prove himself in the NHL, Holland hasn't even played 82 games in the NHL yet. Wait and see I guess

I like Holland a lot. He showed flashes of brilliance last season. Consistency is definitely an issue, but unfortunately the dinosaur Carlyle would waste him on the 4th line with goons, instead of letting him play with more skilled players. I thought he looked great with Kessel, but then again Kessel can make a lot of people look good.

Not at all I think he will be a good one the Leafs just need to give him a shot. He got 11 mins with awful linemates. Give him decent linemates and around 15 mins of ice and then he will have something to work with

He played very well when given top 6 minutes and good linemates. Then our lineup got healthy and our "brilliant" coach played him with Colton Orr and Frazer McLaren.

I think he can be an offensive third liner who can perform spot duty on the 2nd line. im far from ready to give up on him, I think he has a lot of potential.
