Personal favorite Canucks D-man

Really hard to pick just one. It's almost a 6-way tie for me, but Bieksa gets the nod for coming up as a prospect and growing as a Canuck, showing leadership, grit, offense, defense and a sense of humour. Yes, I've seen his downside. That's why he doesn't run away with it. Hammer, Edler, Garrison, Tanev and Corrado are all close 2nds.

Lumme, Ohlund and Mitchell are on my all-time list. It still hurts that we lost Mitchell, but I'll get over it.

Unsteady Eddy. When he's actually on his game, he just does so many awesome things. Other guys like Hamhuis are great defencemen, but they're not exactly 'exciting' to watch most of the time. Just efficient and reliable. Edler has the ability to be truly dynamic on the back end, which is fun to watch when it happens.

Hamhuis
Edler
Tanev
Garrison
Bieksa

He's a very likeable guy off the ice, but I'm pretty anti-Bieksa, personally. I think his playoff swagger/heart is ridiculously overstated.

"Not necessarily "who is the most talented"..."

For all the love Tanev gets everywhere else but this thread.... :shakehead

I cast my lot with only two other fans.

Bieksa is my fav for sure.

I feel Dmen should be able to bring policing to the game, and he is the only one we have. When he is on the ice, everyone plays bigger.:)

Bieksa.
With Hamhuis as close runner-up.

We're talking about the team needing an identity, Juice is definitely the identity of our D.

EDIT: I'm shocked Barker gets more love than Alberts. Seriously, guys?

No, no love for Lidster. Kearns either... for many of the same reasons. Although I'd take Lidster over Kearns any day, and wouldn't even mind having a prime Lidster in our top 4. Kearns, never!

Forgot about Mitchell. Yeah, he was good. Friggin' Malkin.

Forgot about Salo too, admit it and there will be no repercussions.

I don't think they are serious, that's the only way it makes sense to me. I'm sure Barker's a nice guy and all, but I doubt he'll be back so how could he be a personal favourite.

Honestly, last year Gary and that Bomb of his, hope he gets more chance to use it this year, if we have a series that goes to 7, then you gotta think he would have broken a bone or two...

next year I look forward to Edler the most, Torts has singled him out so I look forward to seeing what happens there...

followed by Beiksa, I cannot wait to see how he responds to the fire that will be lit under is ass...

It used to be KB3 but now he always seems so distracted. I hope Torts gets his head back in the game. He was so easily drawn out of position in the playoffs, pursuing vendettas and making "look good" useless hits I hardly recognise him from 3 years ago.

Chris Tanev, for me is a defender who is always thinking, always concentrating and always anticipating. His partnership with Ballard should have been our 2nd D line.
