Persona 4 happened quickly because they were reusing assets from Persona 3 and the PS2 was at the end of it's shelf-life. But games were also smaller back then so they could manage that.

Considering how Metaphor looked there isn't gonna be a big leap from 5 to 6, I believe.

There was a two year gap between P3 and P4. Then an 8 year gap between P4 and P5, but there's no way the leap graphically/technically from P4 to 5 is going to happen again from 5 to 6.

Yeah definitely - though I meant more the gap between announcement and release? Wasn't there something where P5 got announced with a certain date attached, then it was pushed back one year or maybe two? I am hazy on the details, I just meant to ramble into saying that maybe the reason there hasn't been an announcement yet is that they want a clearer sense of exactly when it will release.

That said, maybe to your point, it doesn't seem like there will need to be too much on the graphics/technical end. Of course it will take time to do all the writing, recording, etc., but as P3R and Metaphor show, the actual production should be a well-oiled machine you'd think.

I think the reason they have yet to announce the game is because Atlus already has 2-3 big games dropping every year now, there's no reason to announce it years in advance.

If the leaks we have are accurate, which seems likely given Persona 6's supposed codename was visible in a photo on Atlus' recruitment page, the game has been in development since 2019.

Only two more remakes and three more spinoffs before Persona 6 is announced!

Seriously given how far P4 Revival seems from release given that teaser, there’s a real chance P6 isn’t even in this generation of consoles. Keep in mind P5 came out for the PlayStation 3.

I really hope they don’t censor the game and f*** up Kanji and Naoto’s stories.

Persona 4 is too widely available for them to get away with significant changes in a remake.

I mean, ok but is this really necessary? It's cool I guess, not as cool as a P6 announcement would have been.

The graphical upgrade will help but it's not like P4/P4G has 'bad' graphics in need of a major retune.

One thing they can definitely improve is how there's little to no things to do at night, or when it rains and it rains a ton. They could also buff up some of the more boring social links - and aside from the old lady, Nanako-Dojima done in tandem, Yosuke, Rise, Ai and a few others which escape me the SLs in this game are definitely on the weak side.

They are going to in some way, shape or form do something to mess with Kanji and Naoto, when really let me spell it out; Kanji is not gay, he's a kid who had no positive male role models in his life and doesn't know how to embrace some of his non-traditional hobbies and skills without being insecure about it. Naoto isn't trans either, she is pretending to be a man because she knows that in Japan, it's a steep uphill climb to attain success in a traditionally male-dominated field, the game literally tells you this after you beat her dungeon.

Oh and Yosuke is a teenage boy, teenage boys make gay jokes, even in 2025, the Year of our Sacred Tolerance. Develop some media literacy or learn to deal with it (not any of you here, you know what I mean).

Yep. Kanji is overcompensating for the fact that he doesn't have a dad and is confused because he's judging himself by the standards of people who made fun of him. Naoto and Kanji clearly like each other.

They're going to have to not change anything or change EVERYTHING because their whole arc won't make sense if they change anything.

Either way, this game is one of those games where if they change anything major it's going to f*** up the entire brand.

Things like that happen because some people don't understand the cultural context of a Japanese game that happens in Japan.

Or they do understand and they just want to splice in their political beliefs no matter what.
