Ahh interesting... So we will have young players to make up for perry and getzlaf... And bobby is staying? Ok ya... I feel better now
Thank you

I don't even know what you're saying.

We have a pretty good farm consisting of guys like Palmieri, Holland, Etem, DSP, Rakell, Karlsson, and Kerdiles, who all have top 6 potential. If we were to lose Getzlaf and Perry, some of these guys can possibly come up and replace their production. Maybe none of those guys become superstars, but there's a good chance a few will become pretty good top 6 forwards.

You said Bobby Ryan was leaving, and all I said was that you can't guarantee things like that. He might stay, he might go, you don't know.

That's all I'm going to say.

True.. But it's going to be a blood bath return... Cant expect several top 6 players in return... Some people on here are expecting kovy returns, that's crazy.

if this doomsday does happen, I would want to move hiller too... Then we are talking about a decent chance of a quick rebuild...

What on earth are you talking about? Do you know what Kovy got when he was traded?

How does moving Hiller speed up a rebuild? Goalies don't traditionally get you a ton of value, and losing him would screw us in the net.

Why would trading a #1 goaltender accelerate a rebuild? Not to mention the goalie market is terrible at the moment.

Are you Bobby Ryan's agent or something? You can't guarantee Bobby leaves.... maybe he'd want to stick around and become the team's primary star?

Yupp I don't see Ryan leaving if Getz and Perry go. He would get the C and be our star player, and likely get a star studded contract from Murray.

Lol wtf are you talking about? We wouldn't get nearly nothing for Hiller that would accelerate a rebuild. Gibson isn't ready and the UFA goalies are garbage compared to Hiller. Thank god your not our GM I would feel sorry for our season ticket holders and our fans. Unreal

Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't?

why not Trade hiller at the top of his game. As far as the goalie market.. Ill leave that to u.

If we are leaning on the rest of our young stars why not lean on our good young goalie prospects...

Not to mention that there is no guarantee Gibson will be a #1 at some point. He's a terrific goalie prospect, but it's such a volatile position and there is a lot,of uncertainty in their development.

It doesn't. Moving Hiller just creates a massive hole, and slaps a big fat question mark on our goaltending as we move ahead.

There's no way it does. A 19-20 year old Gibson as #1 is an absolute disaster, no much how potential he has. He should be getting 1 full season in the AHL minimum before even thinking about NHL.

Because once again, the goalie market is terrible, this isn't opinion, it's recent history and fact.

Leaning on a young winger, or putting a young center in the bottom 6 is a hell of a lot different then leaning on a young goaltender. Surely you can see the difference in that. Surely.

Explain how TRADING Hiller would accelerate a rebuild? Also to add, explain how you would fix our net issues with our farm system and the UFA goalies? Trading Hiller does nothing to help us.

ya.. Trading hiller wouldn't have to come this year or next... But eventually.... I really would like to sell him at his high though... Having him in with hampeus fantasy roster wouldn't matter... We would be a bottom feeder

Agreed lmao can you imagine Gibson being our num 1 goalie without any pro experience? Better yet has that EVER happen in the NHL before? Maybe someone can touch light on this I'm curious now.

only suggesting Trading hiller if Getz perry are gone... I would imagine in that scenario we can get a farm goalie in return...
Oh and then there's this draft thing

Why would we want a farm goalie when we have Gibson? Trading Hiller sometime in the next 3 years just isn't smart.
