This is all way too many laughing emojis when I really want to cry. What a f***ing mess.
Tomasino and Evangelista actually did have the least amount of TOI of any of the forwardsWe gotta bench these kids. Too many goals.
Yep after the first when they were the only line to score they were already the lowest. I mean blows my mind. You are playing one of the quicker teams in the league, yet the quicker guys that actually scored get the least amount of ice time.Tomasino and Evangelista actually did have the least amount of TOI of any of the forwards
It does make sense. I mean, if they start outplaying and outproducing the vets, making the vets look bad, then that's going to disrupt team chemistry and identity. You need the vets to feel like they are in control of the ship, you can't have them feeling inadequate. So yeah, bench those meddling kids!We gotta bench these kids. Too many goals.
That's what you get from scoring. What did he think was gonna happen?!Tomasino and Evangelista actually did have the least amount of TOI of any of the forwards
The worst thing about Skjei is his massive term too. Stamkos and Marchasseault have been disappointments but at least their cap comes of the books before we’d be competing again in a rebuild scenario. Skjei is gonna be an anchor for a while.Just saw the replay on the GWG, why are we paying Skjei that kind of money again? Seems like every time I look up he is failing at something.
I think that gets them a little slack but 0 GF 5 v 5 in16 games is insanely bad especially relative to the amount of ice time he gets. And its not like he's just playing low event hockey because he's given up 7GA 5 v 5 too.I cut Stamkos and Marchessault when it comes to 5v5 production because of our center situation. Being centered by a career 3/4C is gonna drag that down.
Skjei plays alot if time with Josi. Maybe he isnt used to having a winger as a defensive partner but Josi is still a high quality asset
It's interesting because Skjei wasn't really on my radar as someone we should bring in going into last offseason. I never really had much of an opinion of him but in my mind I always considered him a solid 3D type of guy but nothing all that great. Then when we brought him in Carolina fans and others talked so highly of him I figured I was mistaken, but after watching him play I'm thinking my initial impression was actually right.I'd echo that Skjei has been the most disappointing addition so far. I thought we were getting a lock down defender and 2-way presence. I heard him make comments about the change in system and how he was not accustomed to playing a heavy man to man style coming from Carolina. Anybody got any insight on how different the systems are?
There is the problem. You essentially have two of the exact same player, and with defensemen that usually isn't a good thing. But Brunette is gonna Brunette so guess we might as well get used to it.Anyone considered that Skjei is pared with a defensive partner who in my mind has seemed to have lost a step in his overall speed which was an asset to him which allowed him to speed up ice offensively and be able to retreat back to cover defensively. I really don't understand pairing two defensemen with similar styles to their game.
