You guys need to read up on the definition of boarding.

That’s a clear penalty even if it wasn’t a headshot.

It’s a boarding, but the context of the play is what I have an issue with. The ref is staring G the play the whole time, calls nothing, then waits until the Avs are up the ice to call it dead. Then they review it, but decide to say it’s a minor and not a major (even though I’m pretty sure that shouldn’t be possible)

Rantanen invited the penalty upon himself by taking the action of initiating contact on a downed opponent. However, it wasn't heavy contact and the ref (who was looking right at it) didn't call anything. I am more confused on them retroactively calling a minor penalty. If this is the standard, are they going to go back and review every missed trip or hook?
