Just end this embarrassing charade

Let the salt lake guy buy them and be done with it
I wonder if that’s the plan here. Lose out on expansion fees but it does solve a problem for the league. It doesn’t seem like there is any way to get an arena deal done for the existing team. Wait for some nostalgia and big bucks to bring them back in ten years when a deal can get done.

How long for the usual suspects to tell us this report is also wrong. AM is a valued owner. There is no way they sell and the league is happy with the fans sitting on high school benches.

I think they value the franchise. AM gets made hole ish.

The buyer pays a relocation fee to make up the difference the owners spent and moves.

I think the yotes team is probably similar to an expansion team in terms of assets. Tons of picks.

Cooley. Crouse. Keller. Not too bad.

This isn't a shot at the area, but I'm not sure there's enough fans for that.

If the original report is unsourced, and Craig Morgan - who is as plugged into what's going on with the Coyotes as you can get - says he doesn't know anything about this, ..... I don't know what there is to discuss, and I really don't see the point in having a 12,003rd thread for all the usual suspects to come shit on Coyotes fans.

The next owner will *definitely* be the one to turn things around.

The turn around would be to take US93 out of Phoenix all the way to Vegas and go north a few more hours up the I15.

Or if you want the more scenic route, take I17 north, when it becomes US89 just keep going and eventually you'll get to Salt Lake City as well

I don't know why they can't move the team, and then if the market seems more interested later on, returning to the city.
The only reason I can imagine is that the NHL owners and executives prefer it as a travel & leisure destination for road trips compared to somewhere like Salt Lake City.
If the city is even remotely willing to play ball, then the NHL will fight for the franchise to stay.

This is so local/state governments will fork over millions of taxpayer $$$ to subsidize billionaires and their toys.

This becomes even more important as the NHL and other sports move from speculation to gambling and land development.

Also the person who reported it is a radio show host. Any real fan of AZ sports probably dislikes him. Certainly all the hockey fans. He doesn't follow hockey. The show rarely talks hockey. They do their obligatory shows with the GM weekly (I think?) and sometimes they have Shane Doan. He isn't dialed in.

Hmmm, he's looking to sell the team just as all this buzz about Atlanta coming back caught fire. How ironic.
