Things are getting a little testy here in the Ball Arena!!
No they won't. Commentators are contractually obligated to say the correct name and it ends up sticking. That is, unless the previous name was so iconic or generic as to be easily continued. Pepsi is just another corporate sponsor.
"The Jake" would fall under locally iconic. My Texas Rangers played at "The Ballpark" until they renamed it something else, but everyone I know still called it the Ballpark. I don't feel the same about the American Airlines Center. The Cleveland Indians changed the name of their stadium from Jacobs Field to Progressive Field in 2008.
Pretty much everyone I know still calls it the Jake. Other than announcers.
Old family name. Ever heard of a "Ball jar"?
It sounds weird, but it's actually a pretty good name.
Short and clear, better than something like PPG Paints Arena or Wells Fargo Center
Works better for basketball though

The pinnacle of corporate naming rights will forever be The Poulan Weedeater Bowl.
Really? You got to single the PA teams out?
What's not to like about the paint can?
They also make consumer products like Mason jars. They also founded a college in Indiana, Ball Statewhy would an aerospace manufacturer spends millions advertising to sports fans? I dont get.
