...McJesus needs players that can play with him at his tempo; him and Point were both better in the 3rd last night once Stooper Cooper put them together...it's the same with MacKinnon; chemistry is extraordinarily important when playing with them at their Tempo (cuz let's be honest, NO ONE is telling them to play otherwise)...

He's a beast but lacks the poise and versatility to be the best in the world IMO. He can be significantly neutralized if you slow him up through the neutral zone, he's not as strong in the half zone offense. That's why he and Rants worked so well together - Rantanen was great off the cycle and as an off pace option to gain the zone.

I like McDavid over MacKinnon for the same reason I prefer peak Crosby over McDavid. Versatility is an oft overlooked skill.

McDavid has all the best abilities except for hockey IQ where I think Kucherov is the greatest right now.

But I do believe that sometimes McDavid should slow it down and use his pace exactly when needed instead of always try to go 110%
