People owe Eric Tulsky an apology

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

It still the same - Canes with the players they have/had - should have won cup(s), The very least play in SC finals several times. The thing that holds them back is their coach and now their GM as well, who refused to fire the coach and makes trades to get worthless picks, when the team needs actual players.

As a fan of another team I don't understand why Canes fans could be happy with this terrible outcome.

In my books it is the worst franchise in NHL currently in terms of wasted potential.

What makes you think they should have won cup(s)?

They have a nice team, but they're not exactly built to be a powerhouse in the playoffs.

You have 5 dollars. You trade that 5 dollars for 10 dollars. Then you trade that 10 dollars for 20 dollars.

How much money did you gain in that transaction?

By your logic, you've spent $15 to gain $20, a net gain of only $5. A normal person would think "I started with $5 and ended with $20, and thus earned $15"
You did. You had both players and lost them. Colorado and Dallas both got better players from Carolina. You gained Stankoven and a pick after giving up Necas and Rantanen. It’s not that hard man. No matter which was you slice it. I’ll take what the other teams got over Carolina
Departures:
Rantanen-he played games for CAR. This wasn’t a 3 team trade
Necas
Dury
Arivals:
Stankoven
Hall
Picks

Once again, HF is the only place where people will question why an extremely successful coach hasn't been fired yet.

Another poster that defines ’better’ by reputation than actual performance, value and fit and overall impact on the team.

"should have won cup(s),"

You're kidding, right? Now if you are talking about Tampa, Oil or Avs that have multiple superstars on their team I would agree.

Canes win because of their coach and his system coupled with some good but not superstar type players, period. They don't have the superstar(s) up front, on D (although Slavin is damn good defensively, he's no Hedman or Makar) or in goal that is typically required to win a Cup.

Looking at Tampa's roster....with Vasy, Kucherov, Stamkos, Point, Hedman, plus the other core guys like Cirelli, Killorn, Palat, Gourde, Johnson, McDonough, they had the best roster in the NHL for many seasons.

IMO, Tampa should have won 5 or 6 cups, no less. They should have been the Islanders of the 80's and wasted potential losing to teams such as Columbus & Washington that had no where near the roster to beat them...but, they did.

Now, Tampa wasted generational potential
