People are not Ready for the Massive Cap Increases

David Thompson doesn’t even make that list you linked? Seems odd…..

You are correct, the Google machine was spitting out “and family” and is that USD or CDN Pesos? Is it just a David Thompson owning the Jets or is it the family?

Now I’m down a Google hole that has him personally worth from $9-30B and trust none of it, and don’t have the time to figure it out on my own, so I’ll take your word for it.

The Forbes list is just US citizens/residents. Bloomberg does a world wide list, which I believe updates daily for known stock holdings: https://www.bloomberg.com//billionaires/

Bloomberg currently has Hasso Plattner first at $29.5B, followed by Samueli $24.1B, Anshutz $23.1B and Kroenke $22.8B.

David Thomson, Peter Thomson and Taylor Thomson are all listed at $12.7B each

If you end the year with 15 million and never spend it, you don't get a benefit
You get the benefit of not overpaying for middling talent and having freedom to chase better players when they become available.

I know exactly what will happen.

GMs will think they have all the cap space in the world, sign a couple of atrocious deals the next few summer, and then all the teams will be in cap hell once again.

As someone who follows the Charlotte Hornets I know about this.
