One big Reason we are 2-1-1 = only 6 minor penalties in 4 games. Last yr 17 minors after 4 games & it got worse. Have to give credit to Noel, staff in addition to the players.

I'll say it again. Tonight Buff was in BEAST mode.

Yes , good point on the penalties tonight and so far this season. Heard several players and coaches mention that was a focus for this season.

Obviously it is making a tangible difference.

Very impressive victory tonight.

Byfuglien and Kane look like they are buying in to the system and the rest of the team is following them.

I must admit that immediately preceding our first penalty tonight, I noted to the person I was watching the game with that we haven't taken many penalties so far. So my bad guys.

Luckily, Malkin bailed me out.

I really hope we resign Antropov.
Maybe, but for less money please :)

I really like what im seeing from this Jets team thus far. I thought we played good enough to win, but I would say Pavs stole this one for us with some HUGE saves! Go Jets Go! :yo: :handclap:

Why can't he not allow those weak goals? He needs to be more consistant, come ready to play every night he is in the net. He is not doing that right not. No doubt he was lights out in the 2nd and 3rd, but he needs to prepare himself to be into the game from the puck drop.

I get what you're saying, but I think you're being too hard on him. Pavs is one the youngest goalies in the league, he will have consistency issues.

Not overwhelmed with Jokinen so far or PoniK, I think a healthy Mittens brings more to the team than PoniK.

I'm not "overwhelemed" either but they've done what I wanted.
Given us depth and slot some players into the right spots.
Once Bogosian returns we pretty much have all our players where we'd want them.

Anyone else notice the Jets are 2 - 0 when coach Claude calls a mid game time out.

Come on, there's a stat somewhere that will show us all how Pavelec sucks right? Anyone? Where are the stats guys?

Thought Mittens was good at the end of last season, he can play in both ends of the rink, PoinK can too but it takes him about 30 seconds longer to get there.

Joki skates like ex-Jet Fehr (not a compliment) but he is much better defensively and wins faceoffs so defn. a step up from last year.

LOL @ Ladd getting the 2nd star and not Kane. I really didn't think Ladd had a good game to be honest. I cringe everytime he stepped on the ice tonight but whatever. If that's what it takes to win then so be it. Go Jets!

I got nothin'. ;)

Looks pretty decent to me. Some luck thrown in there for good measure, but if he (and the team) are able to keep this up, it should bode well.

Heck of a game by our Jets, no passengers to be found tonight. The fact that they were able to overcome two soft goals on Ondrej (who, to his credit, made some real key stops in the 2nd) is a positive sign, especially against such a dangerous opponent.

Very impressed by our entire D corps tonight; even Clitsome bounced back after some bad giveaways in the first. Hainsey-Stuart was solid, Buff-Enstrom was even better. I must say, Toby has really elevated his game this year, I'm finally seeing the player that our Thrashers fans were gushing about on a consistent basis, rather than just the flashes I saw last year. Postma is finally starting to settle down, and man does he ever have a bomb for a shot.

I was commenting at the game how there's something about this Jets team that seems different, and I finally figured out what it is; we've established an identity. There were glimpses of it last year, but the word I'd use to describe this years team is rangy. I don't know what it is, but this Jets team seems to cover the ice and clog the 'power lanes' much better than they did last year. When they're on they can suffocate teams, as I thought we did for most of the 2nd and 3rd.

It's still early, but I'm really happy about where this team seems to be headed. And of course, things will only get better once Bogosian gets healthy.

Just back from the game, I loved it! The Jets completely destroyed my pessimistic prediction, although after the first I thought Crosby was going to score nine on us.

Other than Lynk and a few others, I dare say most people probably shared your point of view

The Jets blocked 18 shots in the previous game and blocked 17 tonight. That is the difference; they are buying into playing team defense, blocking shots, limiting opportunities.

Takeaways were 10-1 for the Jets!

Kane with the beauty dish to Wheeler for the empty net goal.

Did anyone else notice how many times Enstrom won board battles against Crosby/Malkin?

They really played a sound defensive game. Probably their best. The reason the timeout was called is because the game was turning into run and gun. The coach put together a great game plan, made some adjustments in between periods that you could really notice, and called the timeout at the perfect time.

I really like their discipline with penalties as well, it's very noticeable how much their discipline has improved.

They were plugging up the neutral zone so well, they could pick off passes virtually at will. It was great.

Posted at the end of the 1st period after being down 0-2.

No big deal.

Agreed at the time too. The backhand goal by Crosby was poor D/no chance, but the other goal was luck, deflected off someone's stick, back on Crosby's as he's still in motion of shooting. Even Crosby said at the break the Jets put on a lot of pressure. However, I was still scared it could be a blow out.

Wheeler and Kane look amazing together. Kane is sure proving me wrong. He looks fantastic out there. Still does some of his stupid turn and shoots, or throw infront of net without looking, but he's looking great.
