I'm assuming it'll be:

Matheson-Ruhwedel
POJ-Riikola
Almari-Fedun

Perhaps flip Riiko and Fedun, since I expect POJ-Fedun to be the top pairing in WBS. Plus the whole Finnish thing.

I'm in the mood for hockey. The ol dvr is getting inundated between football, mlb playoffs / post season, premier league ...... too much. It takes me a week to get caught up.... I'm just finishing the MNF game...

I just like that the Pens and Steelers are basically in the same boat.

Window is closed but the dumb wankers think they’re still feeling a breeze, the coaching staff already has their excuse ready with injuries, nothing will happen but a year wasted and prospects not utilized to gain valuable experience and also find out how many are worth keeping around.

I’d wager the WBS Penguins will be far more exciting to watch than the Big Club, I actually bought the package to watch the AHL more than the big club this year because I have almost zero interest in seeing most of that NHL squad and the coaching staff.

That’s where I am at, you wankbucket.

Nah there's not a chance in hell the Penguins and Steelers are in the same boat.

The Steelers are an actively terrible team that is going to be terrible for a long time. The Penguins are still a playoff team, just not a top tier contender.

Pff…I’ll get to see the Pens vs Canucks and Kraken vs Penguins at least this year. I’m not quite sure why I even want to at this point.
Yeah... not even sure he played the game I watched, but there is the smallest of small chance he won't be on the starting lineup come the start of the season.

I find it interesting that Boyle hasn't signed yet considering how much of a lock he seems to be.

Maybe he's not actually a lock like everyone thought.

He may not be without the injuries, but even with the injuries the pens have now........ annnnnnnnd the injuries they will acquire along the way... I just don't see how he can't get a contract.
He'd have to be downright gassed and have his legs not work to not get league minimum and a spot starting or rotating in starting.
Especially with one of the highest man game lost teams in the NHL...

He’s such a bland option of all the options that were out there, mostly just stupid imo.

So we have Sid out for a bit of the start, Malkin out a little longer. Our players that can play C are - Carter, Blueger and Rodrigues. Then a bunch of AHL’ers that can play C and have been in the AHL or at some point in their career like Angello, Zohorna, and Bellerive.

I can’t stand Sam Lafferty because he’s so grossly inconsistent, but he can also play C and has for a lot of his career outside of the Pens. I would have even tried him there. He’s taken almost 350 faceoffs in 82 games and is a 50.4% player at the dot. Which is .2 better than Boyle’s career numbers. It’d also be something that could work because Sam plays an in your face game and if you drop him to C where he’s likely to be less of an idiot, you have more options at W and it takes Sam out as one of the wingers.

At that point, I would have maybe invited a veteran winger or something instead.

Guentzel, Carter/Blueger, Rust
Zucker, Blueger.Carter, Kapanen
McGinn, Rodrigues, Heinen
Zohorna, Lafferty, Aston-Reese

Not ideal, but it’s a f***ton easier to bench Sam when blokes come back all healthy (lol, we wish) and for all we know, this could be the spot where Sam fits the best. I think he’s looked adequate at C when he was there at times for the Pens in short stints. He’s quick, aggressive, he’s a decent 2-way player, he’s not the greatest offensively, but at C he has wingers to rely on and he just has to do his game and be more role focused at Center. I mean why the f*** not. The winger depth allows it to be worth a shot.

I have the game against the Sens and Habs so far. There is another game in Ottawa the afternoon of NYE but I am hanging fire on tickets hoping people will sell theirs cheaper. Obviously all depends on how much the Sens suck and if Covid allows people to get together on NYE.

Mate it also depends on how many of the big names on the Pens are injured and how likely Sens fans want to sell their tickets knowing they might not get to see Sid or Geno.

I have some mates that are Canucks season ticket holders and then we have corporate seats from work, so for me it’s always there whether I want to put myself through sitting with a bunch of awful people is the problem usually - If the Pens win or lose, those Vancouver fans love to start up with the aggressive behaviour and insults and try to fight you. We’ve seriously debated not going to anymore Pens vs Canucks games here because of that.
