It's crazy that we are past the midway point of the season and Sully still can't see or acknowledge how bad L1 is, and make a permanent change. Move Kap to L1 and demote Rust, flip Crosby and Malkin (we know GMR works), etc. Do something!!

This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. It took, what, a 8 or 9 game winless streak to FINALLY go back to Rakell on that line? His obsession with GCRust is one of life's greatest mysteries.

This team needlessly lost a pile of games just earlier this year as some kind of weird stubborn spiteful statement in support of GCR. So I'm not sure why everyone is all surprised that this is right back where we are. If the guy holding the lineup card is so pig headed that he's fine losing games in an attempt to prove some kind of petty point this is the logical outcome again and again.

When so many teams are capped out you do a cap in/cap out trade. Or we just trade with someone who isn't capped out.
Every year people say nothing can be done, and it's always false.
Hextall doesn't WANT to do anything. There's a difference.

It's amazing how at the deadline suddenly everyone is capable of making deals.

Why can we not unload Dumo and Kap and offer picks for a 3C or something?
My idea was Schmaltz in Arizona. They have the space. They have no use for him during a rebuild. They want the picks, especially during a draft like this.
Give them multiple 1sts if that's what it takes. He does not have a NMC or NTC.

This team has a ~100 point and ~80 point top two centers on it with a 35 goal 80 point wing and several complimentary pieces tracking at between 40-60 points depending on who we're talking about. Multiple guys are going to clock in at 20+ goals this year, there are 40ish point guys in the depth lines and despite injuries the defense is a solid group and when healthy Jarry is a terrific regular season goaltender.

I don't think it's the roster, guys.

Yea wasn't thst at the same time Sully had Rust nailed to the top line and top powerplay unit.
Sullybis better when the team is stopped to bare bone with injuries. He has less choice so less input then
When a fully healthy line gives Sully all kinds of options and choices....he makes a mess of it.
I seriously think the team would be play better if Sully just watched the game from his couch.

Unless Hextall sees the issues here no changes will happen. Pens will be fighting for a playoff spot and probably will be gassed if they make it. I said before a couple smart but needed moves and Sully swallowing his BS and coaching what he has vs what he wants and I like the RD, Jarry is a quality goalie and getting a physical LD changes the dynamic. I really think a shake up trade is needed.
Dumo is not a shake up trade but Pens can be much better with a fourth line banger with grit and size, Most importantly, Pens need to get bigger and play with some bang on third and fourth line. Poehling has decent size and DOC who is not really showing the offensive game I hoped but yes he canbring some needed size as well.
