McGroarty makes a bunch of nice quick/heady plays that I think will mesh really well with Crosby. Very Guentzel-like with some of these one-touch passes, drop passes and such.

Yeah I think his skating looked really problematic to start the year but it looks totally good now. I wonder if I just got a bad view on him in the prospect tournament that made me think his skating/agility was a problem.

Like that they're double shifting Crosby here and there to play some with Koivunen and Rakell as well. Also really like Koivunen's shot first mindset, I think he has 4 or 5 shots already today. Need more of that on this team.

The bit I've seen from McGroarty today makes me think that he's the exact winger you want playing with Novak and Tomasino next year.

He does seem to read off of Crosby well but I'm unsure if he has top-6 talent yet. But he hits pretty much all of the boxes I'd be looking for a 3rd line LW for Novak and Tomasino.

McGroarty with a great dish there to get on a 2 on 1 with Hayes, the puck just jumps over McGroarty's stick on the return though.

He makes so many good "little plays" that don't stick out but lead to scoring chances.
