GDT: Pens vs. Panthers (6pm EST)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

Hopefully the Lightning rightfully crush us and our spirits Tuesday lol…let’s hope they’re not coming off a b2b as well…

So are we rooting for wins now just so we can miss out barely on making the playoffs and getting a horrible pick? Bettman might aswell make us forfeit it now.

Why does this team play so hard and get so close to making the playoffs each year to only fail short? This makes me afraid of another Sully extension. Where was this effort when it mattered?

Teams are probably coming in thinking they will roll over and there is a decent enough roster here that they actually can compete for a bit before the other team actually starts caring.

Pens have also caught many opponents on B2B nights while they had the day off. TB is coming off a road trip on tuesday.

Sid is now two points away from clinching the consecutive point-per-game season record. Obviously not as big a story as what Ovi is doing, but a testament to Sid's longevity as a top-level player. Any player breaking a record held by Gretzky is pretty significant.
Still very impressive !! Like you said, always significant beating Gretzky's records what was once deemed almost impossible

In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death, taxes and the Penguins being horrible at shootouts.

The crazy thing is despite having one of the worst defenses in the league, a propensity for throwing away leads, shaky goaltending, mental fragility to rival game 7 Maple Leafs, terrible coaching and so on that we would have been right there in the wildcard chase if we were only a little better in shootouts. But then again, this is probably a result from terrible coaching because I refuse to believe that they actually practice shootouts with any seriousness.

I do enjoy seeing Sid and Geno showing some magic after all this years, don't get me wrong, but why can't the team show resilience when it can actually achieve something?

Sully crying about how hard it is to replicate the pressure of a SO after last night's game is classic. Hey, idiot, that's what you're paid to figure out.

Another season where the Pens could be in the POs if they didn't suck so hard at OT and the SO. 11 OTLs and 6 points out.

How could one possibly figure out how to win in the shootouts? Besides practicing the shootout, I mean.
