We already dropped from 6th To 7th because of the mini win streak…we need to be moving back up lol, not treading water
We’ll probably also beat the Panthers Sunday, who will be coming off a b2b against the Caps and likely will be playing Vanacek against us lol

Noticed it's been pretty quiet on the Heinen front here. That usually means he's doing well.
So I checked the stats.
He's 4th on the team in 5v5 P/P60 since coming over. That's the same rank he had over his 2 years in Pitt.
I'm not surprised.
It was definitely an interesting decision to let him go, just to play the Harkins types.

It’s good, it gives Sully more rope to hang us with when we really need to tank next year. Dubas hitting that 4D chess up.
It's not totally surprising that we won against the Blue Jackets; they did play last night while we were rested. It would similarly be unsurprising if we beat the Panthers on Sunday.

It's nice that the games are actually watchable of late and I will never get tired of Sid and Geno doing their magic.
It's not so nice that we specialise in winning only when it doesn't matter and it even hurts us a bit.
Our bottom six were totally hemmed in their zone and hang on for their life most of the time but somehow ended up with as many goals scored as they allowed. Goalkeeping - the great equalizer. If only we could have had it when the games actually mattered.
Jack Johnson and ZAR on a team with actual playoff hopes in 2025. What a world. What a terrible race for the wildcard spots in the East.

I never really understood it either. Decent enough defensively. Can play wing or center. And can actually chip in some goals.

Waddell totally p***yfooted the deadline. A playoff spot was there for the taking. They had some key guys coming back from injury. Should be playing the season for Johnny. And all the cap space in the world.
He could've put the team in prime position. They still wouldn't have been favorites or anything. But take a shot. Try to upgrade the top 4 D, the tending. Bring in a top 6 forward to bump everyone down a notch.
Whats the purpose of holding onto Provorov if all you're going to do is bring in Kunin?
That's the view from my barcalounger.
Guess that is just my vitriol towards Waddell and not the team. But the team hate is probably a proximity thing and how early on the BJs tried to make it a rivalry thing. When in reality they were never anything more than a gnat on the Pens' ass.
