I did in fact lose my parlay. I'm somewhat disappointed. But I think this is more of a last gasp of a once great team than anything else. Make no mistake this team isn't going anywhere. It would have been better if we lost, not just for me to win some money but for the long term prospects of the Pittsburgh penguins. We're not going to make the playoffs you can quote that.
As a season ticket holder, I want playoff hockey. That’s what it’s all about.

We signed the core to win. I wouldn’t have. So not making the playoffs isn’t an option.

half the league doesn't make the playoffs, Pittsburgh will be no different. As I said this was a last gasp.

He's a bigger Hagelin. Not quite as quick, but still a great skater.

Same finishing ability lol
About 6-7 games ago, something just clicked with him and he began using his larger frame to his advantage. Like his style just changed and it morphed into something that really works for him.

I have no idea if it was him or if a coach finally broke through to him but...kudos.

I agree. Outside of being a season ticket holder since I live in CA.

He looks like he does in the A finally. Scoring isn’t there but hopefully next year.

Typical Pens. Need to win tomorrow just as bad.

Viewing objectively that was a clinical game.

Can they repeat it tomorrow? Who knows?

He's just exactly what our bottom six needs. I'd like a little more offense out of him, but he's perfect otherwise. A big, fast, forechecking presence.

We've wanted that for years and we finally have it.

I don't expect dominance tomorrow because Dallas is rested and we aren't.

The key will be to see if the team plays smart of bad habits rear their ugly head again.

Tomorrow is going to require a smart performance.

It usually takes longer for bigger players to find their size and learn how to use it effectively. A recent example would be Sam Bennett. I’m not saying DOC is Bennett by any means, but Bennett struggled for years to figure out what kind of player he was

Considering the quality of our opponent this evening, and even though they had some key injuries, I thought our play in the middle of the ice was pretty solid today. I also think we played much more solid without the puck. Beyond McKinnon kind of weaving in and out of the middle of the ice we largely contain them

It'll come hopefully but if he's able to continue the play, I'm okay if the points aren't racking up. The Carter goal was a good example of his doing A LOT to create the play but he doesn't get the apple because of an additional pass.

No different than Rakell at times.

I would argue energy and forechecking for Archibald, but it’s not a hill I’d die on. If Sully took Archibald out and left Heinen in instead I’d be fine with it.
Archi is really the only player on our team that plays that way so he gets some leadway, and you need some of that in the game because guys will feed off of his tenacity.

Only reason we are talking about Achi is because of the penalty but outside of that he had a really good game.

It's not like his penalties are a normal occurrence.

Archibald and Zucker have that sweaty try-hard energy to their game.

Only reason we won is b/c Erod was hurt.

We were missing 1/2 our D. I don't want to hear about key injuries Makar or not but yes all around solid play.

Let’s see what they do once Bonino is healthy.

If either of DOC or Poehling is sitting for Archibald that’s the wrong call and the exact call Sully will make.

I agree with that but I am not playing Heinen over Archi.

And Poehling is playing no matter what

If the pens make the playoffs you leave the messageboard. If they don’t I leave the messageboard.

Want to bet?
Absolutely! The only thing I'm going to say is I made a bet with someone a couple years ago Timmy D? And I won the bet but he never held up his end of the bargain. So I got burned once before even though again I was right. And I'll be right this time also.

They need to mix and match a bit. I wouldn't hate to see Heinen, Archi, Poehling, and Carter all rotate sitting a game in order to try new combos.
