Post-Game Talk: Pens lose to the worst team in the league

This game just perfectly shows how everything is a problem on this team.
A nearly $40 million top-6 can't muster up a goal at 5v5. The bottom-6 is still dreadful. The defense gives up major chances that Jarry flat out never stops. Sullivan just watches as he makes zero changes and sticks with "we'll win most games when playing like that" responses to the media.
There's basically nothing redeemable with this team. They're a mediocre at best team that has no business being in the playoffs, and frankly I don't see it getting any better in the future. Hextall kept the squad together with basically unmovable contracts, and the core showed him that they're not good enough to seriously challenge for a cup anymore.
Fix the issues that Hextall caused on this team and they will be a playoff team, but this year just firmly convinced me that you're absolutely never winning another cup with this core. Fix the problems with this team and they're still at best a 2nd round loser. They have officially reached the "2010s Red Wings" purgatory, if anyone doubted they weren't there yet.
