Can anyone win a faceoff? I mean FFS. Looking at you, Crosby and Acciari.

That D Man making his debut looked really solid. Probably just a one-game thing but he has earned another. DOC was also pretty good out there. Bunting looks like a new player.

A deserved score. Both Ned and the Isles goalie saved a few goals, could have been 5-4.

Where’s Jeff Carter?

I was about to write that Malkin had one of his better games with no points and I see they have given him a goal somehow. :)

The team has been stupidly good on second games of b2b in the last two seasons and I have no idea why. Maybe because Jarry isn't usually playing or they decide to, you know, play some D for a change? Really need to work on just flipping the puck to centre rather than get hemmed in for minutes at a time, we were so good at it back when Sullivan was a good coach.

But ten ugly minutes aside, they deserved to win, not least because the Isles are stupendously bad on the PK. The Pens forward should try helping the D like that more often. And work on clearing the freaking puck too.

I see that we are now fifth in power play percentage. Turns out that having a new assistant coach works sometimes even his record is, ahem, checkered. Maybe we can try it with the head coach? Preferrably before 2030.

Horvats goal is actually off Lee's leg.

With reviewing available who's the one making those calls?
Both goals have officially been changed in boxscores. But like you've said, Geno was watching his own replay within seconds of action.

I assume it's because during the 2022-23 season, we played nine games while on the second half of a back-to-back against rested opponents and went 0-6-3. We were better against teams that were also tired, but we still lost too many of those as well. I imagine they worked on that, because of how narrowly we missed the playoffs.
