Carolina already had him and from all reports, were not exactly thrilled with his play when they traded him to Detroit. I don’t think he’s going back there.

In surprised Avs didn’t target him over Wedgewood, but I suppose if they wanted Annunen to be the main piece being moved that wouldn’t work for us and our 200 other goalie prospects.

I can't believe the Avs haven't called about ANY of our goalies. They had to at least have done due diligence, yes? Very curious what their offer/our ask was.

I can 100% believe they, like the other 30 NHL teams, want nothing to do with Jarry’s contract.

Ned is certainly better than Wedgewood, though, and both have a year left on their deal. They’ve always tried to get off cheap in net so I could see them not wanting to move a mid-round pick and continue to lose.

I think there's more nuance to Jarry's contract and it's hard to see a conversation like that taking place in-season. But I imagine Dubas has received calls on Neds and Blomqvist. Problem is, I don't think Dubas wants to move either of them. At least not for scraps.

I do to, which is why I could see dubas trying to grab him. Big contract, under performing, but still young. The ducks should be willing to trade him realistically cheap given his past two seasons and dubas is going to look at him like that hot drunk red head at the party who just got done breaking the glass coffee table and whisper to himself "I can fix her"
Would have to send Graves or Bunting back.. I think Zegras next to Crosby wouldn't be terrible.

Not a good lineup by any means but a fun one lol

Zegras - Crosby - Rust
Rakell - Malkin - Tomasino
Hoglander- Ponomarev - McGoarty
DOC - Lizotte - Puljujarvi

I think Crosby would kill Zegras if Sullivan doesn't first.

Zegras is an example of a player who is "good" but not "good here".

I don't think Bunting should be compared with Graves. Graves has been awful. Bunting while underwhelming earlier this season has had some strong games here.

yeah.. I kind of like Bunting. I'm not completely on board with Zegras. Just seems like a swing on a young player like the Caps took on PLD.

Zegras has two 60pt seasons under his belt already but his play the last 2 seasons has been concerning.

Is there a three-way that could be done between VAN-WAS-PIT?

To Van: Pettersson + Pens 3rd + Acciari / DOC
To Pit: Parascak+Was 4th
To Wash: Hoglander+Van 2nd

I think that covers everyone's needs. Sucks for Washington to lose Parascak but Hoglander is a NHL roster help-now guy and you still get a pick.

Ned has technically been one of the worst goalies in the league this year.

His extension was another weird one by Dubas.

Pens sound like the main interested party for Hoglander, like Min was for Jiricek.

They need to get rid of a fwd to make it work, I don’t see where Hog fits otherwise. Just send Nieto down?

They honestly need to get rid of 3 forwards (Nieto, Acciari, Hayes) at the the minimum.

Question is the return for Hoglander. With Vancouver being an actual playoff team, they'd want something to help them now not picks. I'd rather move MP for younger assets.
Maybe GMJR and Tocchet would be interested in Lizotte as 4C over Raty?

Hoglander can't be worth more than Tomasino right? Both 23, Tomasino has 73P in 162 GP and Hoglander has 95P in 244 GP. Hoglander had the 20 goal season last year but otherwise Tomasino has been more productive.

I'd give them the choice of Acciari, Lizotte, Hayes, or even DOC.

He's 23 and potted 24 goals last year at 5v5. He's the exact type of asset we should be targeting for MP.

Really dont want Hoglander, but wouldnt surprise me at all if all Dubas can muster for Pettersson is Hoglander + something not a 1st round pick

At an insane outlier shooting rate of 20%. Basically double of what he shot at for the rest of his 240 game career so far. Big pass on the little guy and his stupid contract.

Can we please just clear out players and actually play our own young guys

If you can get Hoglander for a 3rd + one of our aging plugs, that shit should have been completed yesterday.

I like what is happening so far this year sans the awful record and play. Trade our aging miscellaneous players for youth/draft picks and take on iffy contracts for more draft picks.

If I were the FO, I wouldn't commit to any big money post Crosby’s contract. Continue to handle the same way they have been this year, keep your high end picks, bring in youth, and take on shitty deals (ensuring they are short) for more picks..

Then when Crosby is done, the pipeline should look a hell of a lot better, the team should be 50% started on a complete makeover, and go from there.

I'd bet the deal ends up being Puljujarvi and a 3rd if it ends up happening. Close to even salary swap and it has the Penguins moving a guy that Sullivan seemingly doesn't want to play.

People will be mad that they traded Puljujarvi when he should be playing (which is 100% true), but if Puljujarvi isn't going to play, what's the point of keeping him?
