Maybe Dubas is going to start moving out some pieces and go young.

If only young players remain, Sullivan will be forced to play them.
Or, instead of having to bench , waive and/or trade multiple players, maybe he should just fire the coach who won’t play them lol?

I
The amount of roster turnover this team has had since 2018 is f***ing insane. Yet the team slowly kept sucking with the shit usage Sullivan kept showing more and more of. As well as 3 Gm's getting more of his type of players only for him to keep failing with those types and the GM gets the blame or the players.

It's not the f***ing players.
Since 18-19

Penguins 108 players
Boston 99
San Jose 123

So, TOTAL turnover is about what you would expect

I think the second part of your paragraph speaks more to the issue... It's been a revolving door of the same useless pluggers

One 20pt in 160 game dude to a 10pt in 125 game dude

We haven't had skilled turnover

Just six of one half dozen of the other losers hand picked to "score a lot of goals" by sullivan

The thing too, it's the lame ass bottom six turds floating up into higher spots on the lineup... Like a zombie apocalypse disease map of red dots slowly spreading... 2nd and 3rd lines becoming 4th lines

I still wish this team could've pulled off a trade for McG without losing Yager. But probably wasn't possible. Jiricek feels like a much better prospect than either though, but he'll need a new coach here if he's gonna hit his potential for sure.

But for real I could definitely see the Penguins dangling a lottery protected 1st for Jiricek with their intent being to recover a 1st by trading Karlsson or Pettersson. I’m not totally sold on Jiricek, but he’s been totally mismanaged around by the Jackets and has a sky high upside. Dude is a 6’4” RHD who put up 38 points in 55 games as an 18 year old defenseman in the AHL, that’s wildly impressive. Jiricek and Brunicke as their future RD looks really good.

Would I go for it? If this team wasn’t such donkey ass right now, I probably would pull the trigger. I would trade the 10th overall pick for Jiricek if I knew the Penguins 1st was going to be 10th overall. I just don’t see how you can rationalize the gamble right now with how they look.

I think Puustinen kinda sucks, same with Poulin and Pono. I also think they should be permanent roster spots over the likes of Acciari, Nieto, Hayes, Glass, etc. /shrug
That's where I'm at too. I don't think much of any of those guys but every last one should be playing over the veterans. If the Pens are gonna be this bad anyways then play the kids.

No damned way I'm trading a first lottery protected or no. Even if you protected it this team isn't going to be any better next year.

Jiricek himself was drafted 5th overall and is as good or better than any prospect you’d get in the 6-10 range this year. It’s a no brainer to make the trade if you could guarantee their pick wouldn’t be a lottery pick. But that’s just the issue, you can’t guarantee that.

Yeah I mean that's the issue. I'm not giving up McKenna for Jiricek in the event we do win the lottery this year and then give cbj our first next year

Too risky. Our first can't be on the table

I was very surprised his name was even mentioned.

Cheers.
He should be moved, maybe a bit more suffering will do the trick. PPL who say he won't be moved simply don't know. That's not to say he definitively will be, but I don't think we can rule it out! He would go the final five years of his career without a playoff birth if he stays here. Don't think that'll sit well with him. He's done winning here.

Yeah, no thanks on spending 1sts tbh. This team's staring down several top-5 picks imo.

Jiricek is very good but you're probably getting an equal prospect in each of the next few years.

If Jiricek somehow makes it to the draft without being traded, id easily give up anything lower than the 6th-7th overall for him. Unfortunately it looks like a trade is imminent and theres no telling where the Pens will be drafting.

Crosby isn't going anywhere.
I wouldn't be so sure about that.

Besides, why would you want to subject him to this sort of ineptitude? Although he's the chief reason that Sully is still here.

Absolutely not! No way we're trading our 1st, THAT would be lunacy!

Yeah this is where I’m at. It sucks because they’re not very likely to win the draft lottery, but the mere chance of it happening makes it unworkable.

If they were mediocre instead of bad this year, I think I’d have a different opinion. But they look like a clear bottom-10 team this year and will be sitting around a 10%-20% chance of picking top-2 in the draft. And that’s assuming they’ll only be the 5th to 10th worst team, not even worse than that.

What if it's Pettersson and O'Connor to EDM for their 1st, and then EDM's 1st to CLB for Jiricek?

You’re not getting Jiricek for just a late 1st.

Ok, whatever prospect can be added but that would get the Pens at the table.
