Damn dude they just legalized here in OH and I seriously doubt I could find anything as strong as what you evidently have, there. I mean... based on this statement, at least.

I would say puff puff pass but I don't want none of that. I gotta get through this life, man.
I'm unlocking my 8th and 9th eyes, man.

Nah, I dunno why. Just feels like there's gotta be an end to this. A breaking point. Missing for the third year in a row, Sid probably losing his PPG streak, this team potentially tumbling into a top-5 pick (they were slated to draft 7th last draft before that hot run they had at the end of the year that just f***ed everything up anyway).

Let me dream, man. This shit sucks. I've been wanting Sullivan fired and waiting for this lame ass team to pick a goddamn lane (legitimately compete or blow it the f*** up) for going on 5 full years. I'm tired, boss.

I’m so tired of hearing “He’s a popular guy in the room.” Who gives a shit. The players are there to play hockey. It’s just a phrase to sooth over the fact the player sucks.
I'm pro firing Sullivan and trading vets to make space for rookies. However, it really matters more on bad teams that you keep hard working vibes guys around. You want the young guys to learn from people that give a shit.

Well he does defend very well.
If he's not scoring, like most others, but defends way better...that's a net positive addition.

We lost that Wings game because of PK failure too, for example. Kane was just left alone.

Well we got like one of those right now and Sullivan seems to think he's lazy and stupid while the GM wouldn't care if he was gone today so...

Nothing this team does matters until they accept reality and pull the plug on Sullivan and keeping guys like Petts, Rust, Rakell, and EK around under the guise of competing imo.

I don't think it matters if this team's got a Zucker in the room, trying to keep guys focused with his speeches and going out there and running through the boards every time he takes the ice.

And when this team needs a guy like that, namely after Sid and Geno mosey off into the sunset, they can find guys like Zucker lying around in FA with all the extra cap they'll have when trying to hit the cap floor.

They'd have done it already IMO.

Sullivan being named as HC of Team USA sealed any hope left of him getting the ol pink slip.

Like... I know... that doesn't really seem like it should be a dealbreaker. But you know how this team is with their coaches in general and Team USA shit in particular. At least historically. Would they be willing to blow like three seasons just to shove Sullivan's husk across the Olympic finish line? I think so, yes.

This team's shown, for years, they have no issue with not only signing/trading for complete trash, but playing them. There's been like a dozen guys over the past couple of years that you could remove and replace, and either end up in a better spot regardless of who you replaced them with, or simply wouldn't miss their presence whatsoever.

No idea why they refuse to strip away pieces with any value, even marginal value, and just run barebones to try and get some legitimate stud prospects while they can still learn from the likes of Sid and Geno.

-edit- Anyway, I dunno why--it's probably the drugs--but I have a gut feeling missing for a third year in a row finally gets Sullivan canned. Can't speak to who his replacement would be or if it'd be a good pick, but somethin' tells me by the end of this season we're gonna be seeing some real sparse crowds and those that do show up will be vocal about their displeasure, and the team finally relents on this whole Sullivan worship bullshit. Hopefully. Maybe. Fingers crossed.
The answer to that is "they want to "compete" while Sid is still here".

thing is sullivan will be snatched up quickly by another team.
too lazy to check, but they did away with compensating a team for a coach right?
cause if that was a thing still I'd trade sullivan for a bag of pucks, I'll even throw in Jarry on the side....

Sorry!

Hey if it makes you feel any better he's probably gonna f*** it up and THEN will be allowed to be fired! Which will only waste like five or six seasons of our time, player development and the end of Sid and Geno's careers as opposed to uh... well... that's already way too much.

Anyway I hope you aren't a Team USA fan!
Shit man, I wish it was five or six years. By the time Sully pulls a Bylsma and torpedoes Team USA, running Jake-Rust as his top line wingers all the while, this team's gonna be eight years deep into circling the drain.

Also, for the record, when I say "Sullivan gets canned" I mean it'll be an embarrassing display, tearful goodbye, as they begrudgingly but mutually part ways. They'll never outright fire him. It'll be his decision.

Still think (read: hope) it happens after this RS wraps up. As long as he's not around to influence the draft or FA, I'm fine. Hell, I'm even *for* keeping Sully for the remainder of the year. Dude sucks shit and is actively helping get this team in position to get their best pick since Staal.

I'm honestly not even sure that Sullivan would get fired even if they went on some hellacious losing streak and lost like 12 in a row.

I think if that happened instead of Sullivan getting fired Dubas would just start trying to trade every player that was willing to leave.

Hell that already seems to be happening if the "everyone but 87 is available" rumor is true.

Also, I do find it pretty funny that they're starting TJ on the road because they're afraid of the home crowd booing him.

The fact is, even if TJ comes in and plays well, he's still going to get tremendously booed in Pittsburgh the very first time he has a bad game there again. It's just the way it is. Ned was getting bronx cheered the other night vs Dallas too.

I cannot f***ing stand Jarry, hated the moment they re-signed him, have disliked him for years. But I genuinely hope he stabilizes his game and makes himself a tradeable asset. It's the best thing for all parties involved.

But you just know this team's stupid enough to take like a 10 game stint of decent play as "He's fixed! Hang on to him forever!" Just to end up right back here when Jarry inevitably burns out and goes on a skid down the road.

This team never acts at the appropriate time, let alone proactively. It's always a way too slow, reactionary approach. To everything. Hate it.

What a great privilege for these call-ups to watch this tire fire from the Press box.

Sullivan just escorts the rookies to the press box. "If you kids want to see yourself on that ice any time soon, just think, 'what would Kevin Porter do?'"

Meh they're getting paid a NHL salary while not really missing many games in the AHL (only 2 games in the next 2 weeks). Hardly a bad deal for the young guys.

Frustrating to see shit like Nieto and Shea play, but I doubt the players are all that upset about being called up.

Another coach we might wanna look at in the summer is Mitch Love. Young guy that seems more cerebral than you’d expect from a former minor league goon. Current assistant in Washington that runs their D.

Gotta protect the psyche of our soon-to-be 30-year-old starting goalie.
