“They want to see improvement on the defensive side of the ice and without the puck, especially while working within systems and a structure the Jackets are also using at the NHL level under head coach Dean Evason. ”

This guy would fit right in with the Pens then lol…along with Tomasino’s “ can’t play within team structure “ too….Dubas is doing a great job getting us a top two pick this draft…

Puustinen has been pretty useless for the entire 2024 calendar year.

He was on fire when first called up last year where he had 7 points in his first 10 games. He then had 13 points in his next 43 games and has 2 points in 10 games this year. In terms of that points/60 stat that you love, Puustinen has a 1.5 5v5 points/60 in 53 games in the 2024 calendar year.

Believe it or not, if you're an offense-only winger that only puts up an 8 goal, 23 point pace in the NHL for an entire calendar year, you're not going to stick in the NHL.
I don't block cuz it's problematic with missing context in convos on the board.
So I'm still receiving your replies. But it'd be good if you stopped sending them. Talking to you is toxic and I wanna move on.

"You're toxic because you posted stats that don't agree with my opinion"

I literally didn't post a single thing to attack you in that post, yet you're still getting defensive about it. I just posted stats about Puustinen.

I think it's almost guaranteed that Karlsson gets traded next off-season after his signing bonus. I'd be shocked for him to still be on the team to open the 2025 season.

The Penguins can retain 50% of his deal while it only costs them like $5 million in real money.
Team will eat $5 million for a couple years to part ways with one year removed Norris winning defensemen but won't pay $5 million to fire the coach who's long since past his best before date.

BARF

That's another reply. I don't know how much more clear I can make it. I don't like you and I don't wanna talk to you. Let it go.

Uh okay? The team is rebuilding and needs to get draft picks. Retaining money on Karlsson to get assets for him is a no brainer.

Or I can just keep replying to you to refute your false claims whenever you make them, and if you don't want to reply to me, you can just not reply.

I honestly don't see why. Jiricek is way better than any prospect you'd realistically be picking 25th overall or so.

Because his skating is a major concern. A 1st and a 2nd can bring you in a much better piece to contender with or that you can potentially insert into a line up.

Maybe someone takes a risk and does the Lundkvist deal which was a conditional 1st and 4th I believe.

I understand this line of thought for Vancouver, because Vancouver is a win-now team and Jiricek helps them win now less than someone like MP would. But for the Penguins, I would be pretty unhappy if Dubas wasn't willing to make that swap.

Just pretend like I'm not here, and I will do the same for you. Clean break for both.
We don't get along. We never have. So that's what's best.

This is really weird. You are aware you can just do this yourself and just not reply to me?

I'll see a post and make a discussion on it without it necessarily being directed at who posted it. If someone posts something like "I'd like to see Puljujarvi play with Crosby", I can reply to it while also intending it to be an open discussion to others for their feedback too. That's the point of a discussion website.

It would be one thing if it was DMs, but replying to posts on an open board that anyone can reply to is how you foster discussion. If you don't want to engage in a conversation with me, just don't. I'll reply to posts that I want to reply to and you can do the same.

According to Evolving Hockey, the Pens best goalie this season has been Blomqvist with a .92 goals saved above expected…
But Jarry has improved lol to a -2.9 goals saved above expected compared to Ned at -8.48…wouldn’t mind trading Ned honestly

I would argue moving a 1st and a 2nd for a prospect like Jiricek is a bigger risk for us then it is another team.

If it’s a late 2025 1st and not our 2nd I guess I’d do it.

I can't tell because I abandoned ship long ago and blocked 'em, but I can only imagine given the context that AB is doing their classic weirdo "I'm a tortured genius and everyone is mean to me" while taking offense to literally every post thing.

Honestly you're not far off

I replied with Puustinen stats and he went on this rant of "I don't like you, don't reply to my posts".

I don't think you're getting rid of Jarry unless you're paying, and at this point that's not something this team should be doing. Ned's not any good either, but he's cheap. Even so, I doubt anybody gives a shit.

Yeah this theory would be like Vancouver's 1st. I wouldn't really make a fuss out of whether it's the Penguins 2nd or a later 2nd though, the Penguins 2nd will likely be around 40 but I don't see a huge difference between pick #40 and pick #55 or such.

Colorado has horrific goaltending. Maybe they'd be desperate enough.

But I think even in a hypothetical deal with them we'd have to be retaining and probably taking a bad contract back unless we were willing to add picks/prospects to the deal and as you say we should absolutely not be doing that.

Still a lot to give up. Effectively turning Petts and an additional pick into Jiricek is really not a great use of assets in my opinion, but I’m not really that against it either.

No I don't wanna receive notifications from you. Stop referencing me. Stop replying to me. Respect my wishes. Control yourself. Let it go.

I’ve been wondering if somehow we pull Jiricek with a package of like Jarry at 50%, plus a 2nd or something and take on Elvis at his full hit.

Wasn't Dubas having a lengthy convo with Briere last night or something? The Flyers have three 1sts (their own, Edmonton's, and Colorado's--with the latter two having top-12 and top-10 protection respectively) and three 2nds in this upcoming draft.

Wonder if there's something to be had as far as getting a later 1st and throwing it in a Jiricek deal.

Yeah, I'm not really keen on retaining either. The team's got one slot this year and going into the off-season they have to assume they're going to be required to retain 50% on EK if they ever want any value in the inevitable trade.

Maybe a team just thinks Jarry's in an unfortunate situation and gives it a shot, but I think this team's probably just stuck with guys like Jarry and Graves until their deals run out. And that sucks from a fan perspective, but it's fine as far as where this team's at now and the foreseeable future. Doesn't really matter, and may even be beneficial when it comes to chasing those top-5, top-3 picks.

Rumours are Carolina would take a flier on Ned due to injuries.
