I mean he is, but you are likely paying a pick for him and taking him on full value adding him to our current cap picture. It basically would be your only move and you would be going bargain bin hunting for a LHD.
With Cirelli’s contract I doubt we’d have to pay much to get him, especially without retention…if we can trade Smith for a pick and not retain, we’d have enough money for both

If Smith is moved and Dubas has 17 million of space, I overpay for Stephenson, Then RW is either Puustinen, or JesseP. Acciari can be back or moved as part of a deal. Lets say Sid is here for 3 years with last 2 at 10 AAV, Pens have cap space especially moving off Karlsson for a top young player and pick.

Yeah getting 3 years of term with St. Ivany is great, really happy with that one.
Because Mike “the god” Sullivan is here for another three years and he doesn’t like really skilled offensive guys who score a lot of goals and don’t PK, and those players tend to become 40 point players under him anyhow…

The defense could be shaping up really nicely if the Penguins can get a good LD partner for Letang. I really like Graves-St. Ivany as the 3rd pair on paper and Pettersson-Karlsson will be great (as long as Karlsson limits the moronic mistakes). They just need a good LD for Letang, which they don't have in the system right now.
That's way easier said than done, though. They basically need another Pettersson to play with Letang.

Like you implied it doesn't much matter regardless.

Hague for Smith at 50% + 2nd (Seems like somewhat of an overpay.)
Settle:
McNabb for Smith at 50%
Ferraro for 2nd + 4th
Sebastian Aho at 2.5-3 mil x 2
Reality:
Overpay Brenden Dillon and I kill myself.
I would also bring in Troy Stecher on a cheap one year deal so we aren't just giving St Ivany the gig.

If we can get Lindholm and slot him with Malkin, I'd do it.
The issue is term and cost.
I honestly would overpay for Lindholm if we could get him on a short deal. Say 7.5-8 x 4.
