We should put together an all crackhead line with Nuke, Stevens, and Malone.
He’s overpaid but he’s a much better player than Kot…also we’ll need someone, maybe as soon as this season depending on Geno, who can play 2C, and he can…I’d rather have Hagel as a player but he’s not a center and likely not availableCirelli is an overpaid 3rd liner/ 2nd line tweener.

With Cirelli’s contract I doubt we’d have to pay much to get him, especially without retention…if we can trade Smith for a pick and not retain, we’d have enough money for bothI mean he is, but you are likely paying a pick for him and taking him on full value adding him to our current cap picture. It basically would be your only move and you would be going bargain bin hunting for a LHD.
Term kills anything, and the fact he makes more than all of Rust, Rakell and Smith is just paying for the fact he was to 3 straight finals with another team. With Cirelli’s contract I doubt we’d have to pay much to get him, especially without retention…if we can trade Smith for a pick and not retain, we’d have enough money for both
Someone's going to take a chance on Nichushkin for nothing and reap the rewards. Just don't ever complain about our wingers when it happens.

It limits our flexibility to accumulate picks. We need to use that money to take on bad contracts in exchange for them. When Marner's contract ends in like 2032 this franchise will hopefully be on the upswing. Once Sid and Geno are gone in a few seasons, doesn't really matter who is or isn't on the books. I'm not saying sign 5 of these types of players, but 1 long term contract doesn't bother me.
Too old imoThe Pens safe call regarding center is signing Elias Lindholm.
No assets required.
Because Mike “the god” Sullivan is here for another three years and he doesn’t like really skilled offensive guys who score a lot of goals and don’t PK, and those players tend to become 40 point players under him anyhow…I mean... not that the Penguins can do much better or are likely to even put in the effort to try but what in the world does this team need another 40ish point overpaid forward for, anyway? We tryin' to catch 'em all or something?

The defense could be shaping up really nicely if the Penguins can get a good LD partner for Letang. I really like Graves-St. Ivany as the 3rd pair on paper and Pettersson-Karlsson will be great (as long as Karlsson limits the moronic mistakes). They just need a good LD for Letang, which they don't have in the system right now.
That's way easier said than done, though. They basically need another Pettersson to play with Letang.
Probably because we’re not getting anyone better than Geno…we can dream that Yager develops into one but I don’t see getting anyone as good or better in the trade marketIf the idea is to slide a new center into 2C to "help" Malkin I guess I don't understand why you'd get one who is worse AND more expensive.
Like you implied it doesn't much matter regardless.
Sidebar: just to echo everyone else... like that St. Ivany deal a lot.

WBS fodder. Have like 1 D signed.Filip Kral, from Toronto.
I mean, Dubas knows he doesn't HAVE to bring in familiarity from Toronto, right?
