Good leadership from Hank.
Horrible teammate, am I right?
When you hate the Penguins but want the Rangers get as few points as possible the rest of the season so you're hoping they lose:

Meaningless games at this point so he probably figures the kid should get rewarded for his strong play and not sit just because. The kid has looked good and needs as much playing time as possible, Hank is getting older so pointless games can put unneeded miles on him.Talk about a bitter pill for Hank to swallow, but he really seems to get it

Swedish pals? The challenge with signing EK is maybe Hank gets a 2 year extension?

The Rangers should make a special exception for him and retire #30 the season after he retires.Don't worry, this will soon be forgotten, and we'll get to read all about how Hank is sulking because his numbers matter more than the team. Or some other disrespectful horse****.
Mark Recchi a surprise scratch.
I hate when people say shit like that because most of the time it’s basically entirely constructed in the fans’ heads based on basically nothing or them inventing a mountain based on a crumb.Don't worry, this will soon be forgotten, and we'll get to read all about how Hank is sulking because his numbers matter more than the team. Hank asking out of the tough matchups? Appalling behavior.
On one hand, I do understand where people are coming from when they say they don't want him to get mad on the ice, because it's not North American hockey culture. That said, we do need to understand that Hank grew up in Sweden playing soccer where he was also a goalkeeper. Goalkeepers are the defacto captains of the defense because they can see the whole field. As such, it's proper culture in soccer for the goalkeeper to shout out directions and point out mistakes. It's not to be a dick; it's their literal job description.I hate when people say **** like that because most of the time it’s basically entirely constructed in the fans’ heads based on basically nothing or them inventing a mountain based on a crumb.
His entire career Hank has taken sole blame for basically 99.9 percent of losses, most times when it’s jnot his fault, always saying that he needs to be better. Then one time he looks frustrated or doesn’t answer like the perfect person he usually is and people focus on that .1% and use it to define him.
Truth is that for all intents and purposes he has been an amazing teammate and leader for his whole career, especially with leading by example and being famous for his unrelenting work ethic and compete level. When a guy works as hard as he does and has been as good for as long as he has (always backing up whatever he says with his performance) it really is ridiculous that people will harp on the rare odd non-perfect comment (bc he never even says anything that bad) or him being frustrated after a goal against.
The hate on him for being mad after getting scored on has never made sense to me, people drawing conclusions from it and saying he’s showing up his teammates when truth is he’s prob 9/10 times mad and yelling at himself not his teammate. All of this going aside the point that if anyone hs earned the benefit of the doubt it’s Lundqvist, it always is surprising to me when people outright hate on him.
