Confirmed with Link: Penguins sign Filip Hallander to an ELC

Honestly it is pretty funny that he signed the minute Sullivan was gone. Probably a coincidence but Sully did bury him last time he played in the NHL so maybe not.
Mate we all know it isn’t a coincidence lol. But there’s a few wankers here that think Sullivan gave him a fair shot. They’re “special” so let’s let them pretend it was fair.

I’m glad guys like him get to make a new impression with a new coaching staff. Hopefully the time away and being super productive have given him a ton of confidence.

It'd be nice to retain Dewar and dump a guy like Hayes or Acciari.

Hallander might jump into a 3LW spot.

They probably need to dump Acciari just to have a spot for Hallander.

They're probably sitting with something like this for right now:

Koivunen-Crosby-Rust
McGroarty-Malkin-Rakell
Heinen-Novak-Tomasino
Dewar-Lizotte-Acciari
Hayes-Ponomarev

They need to dump Acciari to give Hallander a spot. I would also be supportive of trading Lizotte for picks if you can get something worthwhile for him, I like Lizotte but you can easily get a 3rd/4th for him and just run with Dewar-Ponomarev-Hallander as the 4th line.

Actually it was 3 games averaging 8:36 toi per game.
If Nieto deserves 54 @ 11:59 per game, then yes Hallander deserved more than he got. His "audition" wasn't enough to learn anything of his capabilities.
They have information, that you dot have.

Players are not entitled to playing time, they have to earn it. He didnt

Gotta think the plan/hope here is dude sticks and we trade him. Contract will allow him to fit anywhere so you could maybe get back a pick around where you drafted him.

I mean, I don't it was quashed at the time.

I think that was exactly the issue. He was in the AHL and was having a baby.

I seem to remember at the time fans wondering if he left partially because he just wasn't seeing a path to the NHL and people were skeptical of that take and assured us that it was 100% a personal/family decision.

Penguins officially confirmed it. Also I saw @Jesse you're doing a Hallander mix tape, really excited to see that. I saw this one on twitter:

You don't happen to have any film on him from this past season do you @Jesse? I'd love to see where his game is at now.

Jesse tweeted out about an hour ago that he's throwing together a mix tape similar to his top prospects videos.
