Penguins have been eliminated from playoff contention for the 3rd straight season! 😬

Sid is an overhyped toxic leader (PIT P% with SId .601; w/o .633).
PIT took many PO spots before not because of him, but despite him.

Playoffs. OT.

Gee I wonder why your guy doesn’t win more often?

Probably everyone else’s fault though.

By the way, there was never a point where the Pens were entirely healthy with and without Sid. There was a revolving door of injuries.

Those numbers don’t mean what you think they mean.

But the Caps did just go 10-5-1 without Ovechkin.

It almost impossible to have good career ending in pro sports. It's especially true for superstars they either stick around too long, or their career end too soon or they get traded at the wrong time...

Yes because a Flyers fan knows a lot about winning

EDIT: of course the rest of my post was edited. Would hate for someone to get their feelings hurt on the internet

At least they have lots of cap space available this summer. Oh, wait…

Erik Karlsson - - 2 more years at $11.5 AAV
Ryan Graves - - 4 more years at $4.5 AAV
Tristan Jarry - - 4 more years at $5.375 AAV

What an epic failure.

Especially when it’s such a ridiculous take- for some reason we have this “now now, respect all ideas” attitude and it’s like “..no, some ideas are dumb and should be mocked. That’s my idea, that the take is awful and fundamentally unserious.”

Anywho, seems wrong to put Crosby’s face up for that. Ain’t his fault.

Pens should do what would be beneficial to everyone and trade Sid to a team like Colorado. That would allow them to tank properly, while Sid gets a chance at a fourth championship.

Crosby past the age of 29:

32 playoff games

12 wins-20 losses

1-6 playoff round record

Lost 5 consecutive series

Blew a 3-1 series lead in last ever playoff series and hasn’t won a game in 3 years

Missed 3 consecutive postseasons and counting.

In retrospect, it’s fitting that Ovechkin and the Caps put an end to his winning ways.

Didn’t want to get sucked into this thread but felt compelled to correct this attempt at an argument.

Yes the Caps did go 10-5-1 this season without Ovechkin. Which is a .656 P%.

They also have gone 39-14-8 this season with Ovechkin. Which is a .705 P%.

.656 < .705

That’s all, carry on.

While I get why you might not want to trade Crosby, they should seriously consider trading Malkin

Let's look at Ovi's performance in the playoffs since their 2018 cup:

27 playoff games
7 wins, 20 losses
0-5 playoff round record
Blew a 2-0 series lead on the Hurricanes in 2019
Lost in 5 or fewer games in 3/5 series

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
