He's probably perfect for the Rangers, since their best players are mostly over 30, and you have a goalie that can mask his inability to coach defense.

Yes! Emphatically! The wonderful NY Rangers, who I love, should definitely take on Mike Sullivan and all of his delightful proclivities.

Heck just look at all of the Penguins fans who are super concerned that he's going to turn that team around! They definitely aren't a little cracked in the head and possibly suffering from Stockholm after all of these years of trauma! No not at all! Get him now while he's still around! I was assured he would have been hired by now by literally everyone so surely ya'll are just lucky he's still available! Hurry! Quick... like a bunny! Or a Trouba elbow to the head!

He's great for the first season or two. The problem with him in Pittsburgh is that he should have been sent packing years ago.

He’s probably not going to be good enough to get the Rangers a Cup whilst at the same time he probably will good enough to keep the Rangers illusion of competing alive

Falling from a projected top 10 pick to getting picked in the 5th round by the Cleveland Browns in about a 2 week timeframe? Legendary.

tbh I don’t think it’s a perfect fit. All joking aside he definitely adapted schemes for personnel (until like this past season).

But the one thing he like actually cannot win without is good forecheckers. Like a lot of them. On every line. I don’t feel like the Rags really have that. As a result I think if he implements similar systems as he did here there will be a lot of pressure on your D and goalie. The moment we kinda went from “elite forechecking team” to simply “solid/decent/above avg forechecking team” we’d still control games 5v5 but gave up so many odd man rushes and barely had any ourselves.

Is he a good coach? Yes imo. Will be better than GG, Lavi, Quinn? Yes. Could he take you to the promised land? Possibly. But I don’t think it’s a slam dunk.

Mike Sullivan would DEFINITELY handle the likes of Zibs, Panarin, Miller, Kreider and K'Andre TERRIFICALLY! No concerns at all, there. Heck he likes Kreider so much he played him over Kyle Conner! Nice! And the Rangers young players? *chef's kiss*

And heck he ALREADY has experience coaching Fox! Bonus! He looked like one of the players of all time under him, too!

I think there will be a positive honeymoon period and then things will settle into indifference and then blind hatred. Just like any relationship.

Difference is, I don't think you guys are on the cusp of B2B Stanley Cups and all you need is a coaching change.
