He's like 40 and couldn't even crack 20 goals last year while getting back on the injury bus.

I love the dude and you are right that it's a real shame he's had to kinda make do with some REAL suspect linemates over the last few years when he's needed help most but he's toast my guy. The best thing they can do is put him on Crosby's wing but he's probably not good enough to hang there anymore, either.
Nah I don't see it that way.

Just by not having Sullivan as the coach, he will likely have better usage for his minutes and linemates and I can see him bouncing back to maybe a 70pt season at 39yrs old.

Malkin will bounce back to better than he was this season and last, just by not having Sullivan constantly f***ing him over. Simple as that mate.

How about a bet?

If he surpasses his season total from this year I'll agree to your terms. If he does not you have to wear cargo shorts, a Tweety Bird basketball jersey and Crocs for an entire WEEK.

As long as it's not Quinn, Torts, Joel Q, or Lavi - we'll be fine with whatever the situation is if the new coach plays youth and actually tries things with the roster and the system.

Like I said I think going after coaches like Carle, Graham, Nelson, etc is the better option for not only the veterans but absolutely for the youth and actual development.

Yeah I think the team is going to be dreadful next year. They're going to be giving multiple players a chance to rebound and see if they can be better under a new coach, I think Graves and Jarry both fall under that (since they'll have a new goalie coach too).
I think it's too little, too late to make this team a contender again, but I don't think it's unreasonable to think that it could benefit some guys. Graves and Jarry are 2, but I think Letang, Karlsson, and basically all the of the young guys could see a bump, too.

Holy f***.

Are we all crying tears of joy?

Eat a bag of shit Josh Yohe you stupid wankbucket.
I'm not crying. You're crying.

I don’t see how. We either do well and he’s a superstar for it, or he’s awful and we’re in the McKenna lottery.
Yeah the new coach might get some slack by the fanbase here if only because if we suck people will be glad for the shot at McKenna.

Cool.

Boom Boom Geoffrion invented the slap hit and revolutionized the game. Nobody is digging him up to put him in their top 6.

Yeah that seems... uh... thin.

This idea that Mike Sullivan re-invented the aggressive forecheck is... well... I don't agree haha

Also that was like ten years ago, man. I assure you that teams have very much moved on, Jesse.

One thing is for sure: If the coach they hire believes playing Malkin at LW and second power-play unit is MAXIMIZING the player, then he clearly is not the right man for the job.

I would like to think the person they hire will be smarter than that.
