Carle and Greg Moore are the 2 guys that make a ton of sense to me. Moore is the U-18 US head coach and was the Marlies head coach while Dubas was the GM of the Leafs.

Carle may be a tough sell because I bet he has better options, but Moore also makes a lot of sense.

I think he’s rejected overtures from better NHL teams…why would enter the shitshow that is the Pittsburgh Penguins? lol…whoever we hire needs to be a defensive wizard who can develop our young players and totally remake our D..they also need to hire a much better goalie coach…Chiodo should be next

I also think Carle seems like a very Dubas kind of move. Hire the hot young up and comer and if you are right on him it makes you look like the genius people think you are. But it would also be an A+ hire in my opinion

I’m not saying he wouldn’t jump at the opportunity, but he’d be my top target. Also, you never know if the opportunity to coach Sid could be what finally gets him to the NHL.

So apparently Sullivan had a list of demands/non-negotiables during his meetings with Dubas and FSG and they said those weren’t happening and agreed to part ways.

could also see Greg Moore as a Dubas target for the next head coach. He was the guy who replaced Keefe as the Marlies head coach when Keefe got promoted to the NHL. He was fired from the Marlies after Dubas left despite having a good final season there and is currently the head coach of the US NTDP U-18 team.

Basically hits both boxes of a Dubas connection along with a young player focused coach. Carle is the primary target but I think Moore is a realistic option too.

Please god no on Moore… @William H Bonney tracks the program closely. He’ll tell you that’s a bad idea himself.

Sullivan’s demands had to be something to do with trying to make a more aggressive push this year which doesn’t seem to be the plan at all. Or something so ridiculous he knew they would let him go.

Feels like there’s a lot of regression and wasted talent for that birth year. Which IMO is borderline hard to do when you take the elite of the elite 16 year olds athletes in the country out of school completely and have them live breathe and eat hockey for 2 years.

Maybe the Penguins go after David Carle as the new coach? He withdrew his name from consideration from the Blackhawks coaching position yesterday, he's the coach of the University of Denver and has basically turned that program into a NCAA powerhouse.

NCAA national champions in 2022 and 2024, made the frozen 4 in each of the last 4 years. Also the head coach of the US WJC team, where he has won back to back gold medals.

I'm here for it. Absolutely here for it. I don't until we'd necessarily be super high on his list but I also wouldn't be shocked if it was him
