Lol did both teams lose this trade? Lol

Heinous heinen back lol
They took on 2 shitty contracts for two shitty players to get a first that's protected and a mediocre prospect for Pettersson, they could have maybe done better at the deadline to be honest.

So now you lot will have to watch Heinen in the top 6, team gets older and slower, but rest assured, It's never Sullivan's fault.

I am not happy with a single blue liner we have under contract. But I think Graves is buy-out fodder, he's not tradeable.

I was wondering why he looked familiar.
You can't trade Graves if you never play him and when you do, it's in a system where everyone looks like shit.

That latter part might just be the bigger issue but it won't stop blokes from whining about players instead. Rejoice mate.

Couldn’t have at least gotten Hoglander in the deal?

Desh is useless and Heinen is right back with Sully lol

At least we got a first

Well he's meant to be the "big physical d-man" like you were saying.

Yeah, Hoglander was linked with this trade for a long time. Surprised he wasn't involved. But probably wouldn't have gotten a 1st then.

Pretty rough from Vancouver IMO. Either ends up as simply fair to solid if the pick is a late 1st and both guys play well.

Other end of the range is the NYR pick ends up in the lottery and neither Petts nor OC play all too great.

Just doesn’t feel like a high upside move for them.

I'm sure the usual suspects will bitch and moan but I love this return. A potentially unprotected first + a recent third rounder is good work

What am I supposed to be happy about? Dubas came in to keep this team competitive and now we are already setting up the roster for an even shittier year next year taking on dorks like Heinen.

It’s embarrassing. It sucks to see him throw in the towel. But, solid trade for DOC and Petts.

Completely disagree with the mindset Dubas has had here since he got here and he’s handicapped this franchise incredibly in such a short time frame it is honestly impressive.

I seriously think Sid may walk.
Walk where he just re-signed
He clearly seems to want to retire as a career Pen

We're like a week removed from thinking Petts was gonna return a late 2nd rounder or a 3rd rounder and whatever prospect. I think we should just be happy with the 1st and hope the Rangers crash out next season.

This is basically where I stand on the matter. It’s not a masterstroke but it’s got something’s that I like and somethings that I don’t.

Let’s see how he feels after playing with real talent in two international tournaments and coming back to playing with the shittiest roster in the East with a coach who won’t even infuse youth.
They haven't made the playoffs in 2 years, he signed up willingly.

He's not a moron.

DOC is waiver fodder, so that's whatever. Petts fits a need on their blueliner so it's a good pickup for the Canucks. Pens get a "let's see what happens" prospect in Fernstrom and a 1st that might end up being a top 10 pick next year if the Rangers' core continues to decline.

I just hope Dubas is still working the phones to gauge interest in guys like Rakell and Bunting as well.

I'm gonna be honest with you here: I hope the Rangers crash out every season.

Seriously though, I agree with you. This is certainly not a trade worth worrying or complaining about.

I’m pretty sure Sid would much rather be doing just about anything else than playing in the NHL’s fake ass useless tournament thing with like 3 teams or whatever.

Kind of interesting Dubas didn't use the last retention slot to squeeze a bit more return. Saving it for Bunting maybe?
