Pearson and Dwight King

I hate being the one to bring everyone back to reality... If Pearson makes it back and can recover his game in time for the playoffs.... Does anyone really believe that Sutter will try Pearson on the top line?

Well... outside of Sutter going into panic mode in the playoffs... then all bets are off anyways...

One of two things can happen: (1) he will put Pearson on the top line because Pearson's phasing period as a rookie pretty much came to an end when he was a regular in the Ducks, Hawks, and Rangers series and the first half of the season; or (2) the Kings will be losing badly in the first round and it will force Sutter's hand to try something new, which was what happened during the end of the Sharks series.

Why not? It's a result oriented business. My concern is with team play, rather than which individuals are on which line. Say if you put Nolan on the first line, and he was operating at a PPG pace, who the frick cares that it's Jordan Nolan, a "fourth" line winger, its about the results. Why break up that 70's line with things going as they are with those three.

Clarification....

I would love to see Pearson on the top line for a couple games... see what happens... just with Sutter preferring larger more physical players... King/Nolan, I just don't see Sutter putting Pearson on the top line....

Sir hands of stone was on the top line of a bit there.

Also we have a loadout option for the second line: need puck movers and agility? Pearson in the line. Need more grit and tankyness? King your turn.

Yesterday on TSN, Lebrun said that because of the Pearson injury, LA is looking to acquire a forward at the deadline. (This isn't exactly what he said, but something along those lines).

That doesn't make me too optimistic about his availability for the playoffs. Lebrun is obviously a legit source.
