When asked if Niemi was his guy for Game 1 v LA, Todd McLellan 'he's one of our guys for Game 1'.

What a great coach. Way to give your no. 1 goalie all the confidence in the world. Yeah he had a horrible night tonight but as a coach you have to have more vision than this.

Fine with me, if Niemi takes it to heart and disappears against the Kings. :)

Happy the Kings won't be facing the Ducks and Gibson in the 1st round.

go kings go!

I would have taken more enjoyment eliminating the Ducks but the bright side is that we get more knowledgeable and respectful fans with the Sharks. So, Dance Off Part III?

perhaps he meant that the whole team with niemi, as opposed to just stalock?

FWIW, Sharks fans are more down on their team's play lately than we are.

When you were up 1-0 in the game last week, our season was over already and you were destined to sweep us. So was the board consensus.

For one of us... this is going to break the laws of physics by simultaneously sucking and blowing. That is guaranteed.

Official or not, this is jinxy.

Please delete.

Kings won the Cup. There are no such things as jinxes or superstitions anymore.

Do not delete.

Oh, by the way, just to tweak you: Kings are winning the Cup again this year. :)

I really wanted to play the Ducks in the 1st round. This series is just going to be as tough as last years. They also have home ice which really sucks. Oh well, it should be a good series regardless who comes out on top.

Not going to be easy, but if we can keep our scoring going I like our chances. I just hope the Sharks don't get confident. They're tough to play when they're confident.

Yay, more of the used to death 'Beat L.A' chant.

Don't worry, the cowards who chant only chant when the Sharks are leading in-game against the Kings.

Although I will admit one game this season they actually chanted it when they were down by a goal. A rare event; perhaps they were confused? ;)

Doubt it. Not with quotes like these:

Elliott Teaford ‏@ElliottTeaford
Joe Thornton throws Antti Niemi under the bus: "We played a heck of a game. A couple of soft goals and we lose the game. That's all." #wow

Here are some more interesting quotes from Sharks' players:

Greg Beacham ‏@gregbeacham
SJ's Dan Boyle on the LA Kings: "We know what we're going to be up against. Obviously it's going to be a pretty hard-fought series."

Curtis Zupke ‏@curtiszupke
Logan Couture on facing LAK: "They’re a hell of hockey team ... we’re in for a challenge, and we better be ready for it.”

I wouldn't underestimate Brent Burns, especially when he'd be asked to play both blue and red lines. Thankfully, we have reinforcements coming up and fill up holes and mitigate a potential two-line threat at the very least.

As for the "Beat L.A.!" chants, this isn't the NBA, where that chant originally happens. At one point, the Los Angeles Kings singlehandedly shouldered California hockey, which resulted to the emergence of the Ducks and the Sharks; I even pointed that fact out to most Sharks fans I ran into in real life, which shocked most of them. I swear, it's like they're in the Sharks wagon only for that chant.
