Kreider, Lemieux, Smith, Lindgren, Trouba , Skjei, Staal, Strome, Mika, Fast, Tony D would all be higher on this list for me. That said I like everyone else thought it was great what he did going after Marchand, it was well deserved.
I'll beat up Marc Staal right now. He's bottom for me.

He's soft, he can't see, and a gust of wind knocks him out cold at this point.

Best dressed, Smitty, he parked my car before
Buchnevich seems to have improved his English tremendously and completely came out of his shell, he's becoming one of the funniest guys on the team. Between this, mocking Elvis's belly, the Marchand incident, joking about the TSN draft board, his funny instagram stories, the faces, even another celly he did recently was really funny/weird looking where he poked his hands outward while pushing his head forward like peacock; how he's skipping around the casino night looking like PeeWee Herman. He provides great meme material.

That's on top of perhaps one of the most lowkey fantastic seasons I've seen by a Ranger, people were talking about him as if we needed to move him but his production has started matching his play again. He's been one of the best drivers of offense and scoring chances on our team all year, and his forechecking as well as defending has improved so much, he isn't afraid at all of going into dirty areas and getting into scrums after whistles as well. He's developed a bit of a mean streak and seems to play best when pissed off. Example of that was at the game I went to in Vancouver where Edler absolutely nailed him, he got right back up and looked enraged and scored seconds later

Not explicitly a Rangers fan (though they're among the 4-5 teams I like and follow) but I'm happy to see Buch has been doing well lately, always been a fan of his! His dry spell in December was a little concerning but I'm glad to see he's bounced back nicely in the recent weeks.

You look at a couple guys from this roster at 24, Zibanejad 47 points in 72 games, Kreider 43 points in 79 games. You watch Buch in the first quarter of this season, how he's been playing lately... He's got the talent. You take out that absurdly long cold streak and it changes how his season looks. Will reach +40 points again. I really think he's a guy that can reach another level it's just a matter of consistency

Hasn't that been the primary issue all along though? Inconsistency....

Doesn't feel like much has changed this season....

I'm not optimistic he's going to suddenly learn how to be a consistent contributor....

The same could be said for any developing player. The difference between a 50, a 70 and an +80 point Zibanejad is how consistent he can bring that production game in and game out. The couple extra minutes has helped but it's all the little things we've heard thats elevated his game. Being more focused, more attentive to his diet, his confidence, maturity, etc.

Point is there's a lot of factors into a guy taking that next step. For Buch confidence seems like a big key

So then Buch is immune from any criticism/concern about his consistency issues since he's just the same as 'any developing player'?

I don't share your mindset...This is a real concern with this particular/specific player.... These hot/cold streaks that result in unpredictable offensive production...

What do you mean elevated his game? He's scoring at the same pace as the prior season - same points but less goals

Organizations are reluctant to commit long term and high/higher AAV to players who are inconsistent and a bit of a question mark as to what you're going to get in terms of offensive production.... The closer Buch gets to UFA without becoming a more consistent player - the more likely he is to be dealt and viewed as a non-vital part of the rebuild moving forward....

40th point of the season tonight. Three off his career high.

Think there is another level in there where he could get to 60 points.

Knock on wood, might get through a full 82 this season, which is progress. Been on PP2 most of the season, which is pretty much a kids line.

Would not surprise me if he hits 60 next season.
