RIP sir, those first 2 Maiden albums were perfection.
Dennis Stratton was out before Di'Anno, though (Adrian Smith played on Killers). The one thing I have always liked about the guy is that he put his hand up and said he was partying 24/7 while Steve Harris wanted to focus on the music and not the lifestyle so much(this also lead to Clive Burr's and Dennis Stratton's ouster from the band later.
Killers is maybe their weakest 80s album, and it still f***ing rules.Iron Maiden's first two albums are really good.

Anyway, RIP. I was a big Maiden fan for many years in the 1980s. I didn't have problems with Bruce or anything, since he was already there when I became a fan and actually I preferred him. However, I never liked it when Bruce sang the Paul era material (live). It just didn't sound right, so I guess Di'Anno's voice was perfect for that early stuff.
PS. I only now discovered that his real surname wasn't Di'Anno.
Never heard of that. I think he left or was ousted in late 1980 and that was it. It's possible that he plays a little on some edition(s) of Killers; didn't the couple of first Maiden albums have a slightly different song lists depending on a country... or continent, whatever? Similar to The Beatles', AC/DC's etc early albums.I thought Stratton came back for a few songs on Killers but was shown the door half way through the recording and then stood in for a few songs a couple of albums later before leaving for good
