lol....cmon...there are enough things to kick Bergevin about...we don't know any of the details about this and you're already blaming Bergevin for it. Could of been a nagging thing that Byron was playing through and told trainers that it didn't effect his game...could of been something that occured in the last game...could of been alot of things.
Facts we know:
- he had post season surgery to repair damage
- recovery from said surgery is 6 months (best case)
- the team was out of playoff contention months ago
- he played until last game of the season
Now, short of him injuring himself after the season, there is no excuse for the team allowing him to continue playing until April with an ailment requiring surgery.
Having a medical team that is on the ball and effectively managing player injuries and rehab is crucial in this business.
All of the facts above point to a collosal failure in that area... That, or worse, an intentional decision. Either way, it is further incompetence from the organization.
That there are so many other areas of execution where the organization comes up short doesn't negate or diminish the failure here
