I do think Wolf has respect, I was being a dolt. Johnson has some sort of connection to the GM of the Giants, but they don't have a QB. I like Maye better than Caleb Williams, but you have to wonder if the skill guys the Bears have make it more enticing plus the competition vs the Lions

I want an offensively minded HC that can work with Maye for years to come.

I’m sick of the yearly hiring and firing of OCs. I don’t think this continued path is a good one to develop a young QB like Maye.

I would be ok with Mcdaniels as OC if Vrabel were HC maybe since he probably can’t find a HC job.

Titans pass game under Vrabel was non-existent and I don’t trust him to find an OC.

Overall Maye is our best player. I want to build around him and the best way to do that is get a HC with him that can stick with him long term if all goes well.

Vrabel got fired from his last job for sinking the ship just as fast as they grew it. His inability to work with the GM got him fired. He also interviews with the Carolina panthers and Atlanta falcons last year and neither were impressed enough to hire him. I think there’s a reason for that.

Personally, as with the Bruins, I prefer defense first. Even if that means running the ball for a yard or two while keeping the other team off the board.

I like passing as much as the next fellow.

The biggest gripe people have towards Wolf is the offensive line, and yeah the construction of that was pretty pitiful and indefensible. Now Andrews going down hurt big time, as did Strange taking forever to return…but their big vet signing was a guy who put up the worst game I’ve ever seen, was pulled after a few drives, and then quit football. They needed to add at least a Jonah Williams or something in FA and didn’t. Hopefully they learned their lesson

I haven’t read anything regarding his salary. But I do recall reading somewhere that the clause in his previous contract was a 10 million dollar buyout IF he wasn’t named head coach once Bill was gone.

Hindsight is obviously 20/20, but Mayo had like three or four interviews for Head Coach jobs around the league before the Krafts put that clause in his contract. It was only a matter of time before someone gave him a shot.

Maybe, I'm not convinced of that since things started to go south for the organization. I think he would come off as less attractive given the last couple years. Are you sure it was 3-4? Regardless I am certainly curious to see where he lands now that his relationship with Belichick is toxic.

If Bob Kraft was that desperate to lock Mayo up it's crazy to move on from him after one season. That's why the Krafts to me are biggest problem. I'm not sure they know what they're doing.

If that ever happened or got out of hand…

A. They played Joe Milton basically entire game - he was expected to make 2-3 turnovers not look like a seasoned veteran

B. They played all sorts of practice squad players in the secondary

Who were those guys ?

C. Their FG was more concerned about himself and family and was money / how dare him

Both teams didn’t want to win but respected the game

Last year he walked away from the Commanders after concerns about that franchises stability and new direction and turned down offers to interview elsewhere before deciding to stay with Detroit.

It would send a pretty strong signal about New England if he does decide to interview with them.

Krafts' appear to not be messing around here and want to move quick one way or another, they obviously don't want to risk losing their guy.

They may wish to move quickly, but they better get it right this time.

Again, it is inexplicable to me that the Krafts did not instruct Mayo to lose the game.

It has been suggested, by Chad Finn I believe, that the "win" may have been an act of defiance on the part of the head coach, who must have known he was on the way out.

A middle finger salute and shiv in the back, as it were.
