Now I see why a team about to undertake a rebuild (Chicago) would not want this player as part of the rebuild. Hughes got fleeced. I would rather have Romanov.

Seriously he needs to sit.

Let's be honest though, I'm sure you'd look at your own posting history before his injury and your comments would have been the opposite. A lot of teams make significant mistakes in whatever state of their teams life cycle they're in. His effort level tonight was brutal, but I wouldn't throw the towel so soon after the good things he's shown since the trade.

I mean Chicago also gave up on Strome for no reason at all so I doubt they big brained that move. Hard not to think about how we could have maybe gotten an actual top 6 center on the assets used on Dach and Newhook.

Waive him. Sunk cost at this point. Bad skater, bad defensively, not physical and to boot he has bad attitude and terrible body language. Living embodiment of a sandbagger. Not a player that deserves to wear the CH.
He's made of glass and coming from a long injury. There's clearly a mental block to his game right now -- and it isn't unusual coming off a big injury -- and he's super frustrated.

There's no need to take any action at this time other than benching him. He needs to be scratched for a game or two. This team's culture has to change.

Dach and Newhook were HuGo mistakes but it's not that they're tied to us for 8 years.
Anyways, they're our tank commanders who will allow us to get much more talented players, so it's crucial that they play out their contracts.

Doesn’t hit.
Doesn’t skate well.
Frustrated.

These are effects of the injury, but the clock is ticking.

Laine is a puzzle piece that’s coming back soon (he’ll have his own issues on returning).

At some point the this season they’ll have to stick Dach between Laine and (Newhook or Slaf) and decide if they have their #2 center. If not, shop or pick their bridge solution.

Dach and Slaf have 1 goal, after 20 games and 17 games respectively. They should be ashamed of themselves. Even Armia and Dvorak has 2 goals, Anderson and Heineman have 4 goals. These players don't play on 1st or 2nd line, and they almost have no PP time at all, unlike Dach and Slaf.

If we pro-rate, Dach will end up the season with 4 goals, and Slaf 5 goals. And they have plenty PP icetime.

Beyond the lack of production, what bothers me is the lack of effort. Dach seems lazy and not involved.

Too many passengers getting a free ride this season.
