what is this new thing about the jackets trying to injure Lanie. Laine said words, you can say words back. Intent to injure is a whole new ball game. If and I mean IF it is true that the Jackets were guilty of intent to injure heads should roll. Yes it's hard to prove but I did say IF.... the NHL will right now sweep under the rug this time. Now if this happens again The NHL will be forced to hit the Jackets words are words not action.
Did you see any illegal hits? I didn't

Looked like clean hits to me. Def legal and the right way of responding. CBJ did nothing wrong as far as I could see. No gooning.

Don't forget Patty hiding in the locker room for 2 periods, that's the main piece of this drama
I watched the game and he came out hard, actually tried to throw a big check to start the game and took a few light bumps. On one of the hits he seemed to tweak something and didn’t return. Didn’t look scared at all and he’s hasn’t played timid at all in his time here.

But if you have intel he was hiding in the locker room thats huge. The rest of us can only go on what we see, we don’t have inside sources like you and some others here.

The biggest hit attempted/ thrown was actually Laine on i think Voronkov on the right boards, first or second shift. He wiffed but thats the only play involving Laine that sticks out.

This thread makes me question If I’m the only poster here that actually watched the game. CBJ wasn’t overly physical, or particularly good. This motivated group of CBJ berserker's smashing into Laine and playing motivated hockey….must have missed that.

He was with his life coach girlfriend at lake Como in a luxury resort and his gf tweeted all Patty would want to eat in a fine dining restaurant was chicken nuggets. Tells a lot
Those are edible using a fork and thus, a greasy coating on a video game controller, can be averted.

Exactly.

People really want to jump to their conclusions and then form definitive opinions based on the scraps of data.

People who don't like him will jump on these interpretations

GOAT

He's our Superstar player and he got no filter. Chantal will have a hard time shutting him up and I'm loving every second of it.
He’s got a few scores to settle.

Maybe Dr. Lupo can train him on a don’t-give-a-shit first person video game. 🥹

my God, the main board Laine thread is just awash with all the foul-mouthed, anti-habs muppets with their trolling, sanctimonious takes. It's so f***ing mean-spirited what sane habs fan would want to post there?

merry xmas eve everyone!
:santa:

I wouldn't mind the team resigning Patrik Laine at the end of next season. We should see what he can do with a real second line centre and Ivan Demidov opposite to him.

Maybe give Laine a 5 years, 7.5 mil per year. He hasn't been healthy for the past 3-4 seasons so $7.5 mil with bonus if he plays 82 games. Laine has an elite shot and can change the game. He just needs a real centre since Mark Schiefle. He was on his own in Columbus.

I‘m still looking for the dialogue, the questions that were asked.
The quotes were taken out of context and put together from the BJ‘s beat writer. So of course the whole article is biased.
Portzline has an agenda. I prefer Russo or Johnston if reporting on delicate subjects.
Portz wanted a headline and I‘d bet he kept asking until he got the quote.

Any news on the injury? If they pulled him, it was not the stupidest decision.
CBJ was running Laine and the Habs have not a team to fight back.
Obviously Laine had forgotten to not talk to Portzy. And how come no other reporter has written an article claiming the same statements?
Nonetheless…live and learn.

Merry Xmas.

Why is Laine still answering these types of questions? I dunno, can’t he just decline? Looks like he might need some coaching on how to deal with media types. 💀

Answering questions honestly, can definitely get a guy in trouble.
Just answer the questions like a politician and everyone is happy then.

When a player wants out of a certain city, that city of fans gets a whine on, you can't stop it from happening.
Scoring 8 goals in 10 games, says to me, that we all hope Laine wants to stay in Montreal.
