Honestly I get what he's saying but he's being too hard on himself, he's not doing the leadership thing he's just letting his bad brain talk to him and that's a tough pattern to get out of. I hope the team recognizes that and keeps nudging him the right way

His demeanor is much lighter these days after a loss or when he's being critical of himself. He'd be much harsher previously and you could see how it would weigh on him when the team wasn't winning. He is used to winning everything, and being a key contributor. That's what he grew up to be and then the injuries started and took temporary toll on his ability to affect the score positively and win games for his teams.
It seems he has grown up more and has tools to deal with that situation better than he did previously. The shrink is doing good work.
I don't think he'll ever become someone who would not expect the world of themselves in every game, but it looks like he's learning to not let it drag him down with it.
This is him, after being selected MVP of the World Championships but losing the final. He hates losing and takes it as a personal failure. Today he is more mature.
