3 x 6m for Habs imo. But Im pretty sure there are some teams out there that will be willing to go like 5 x 7m. If someone loses their mind and/or sees that Laine can still become a stud they will definitely be willing to pay up, 6 x 8m+.
No ones paying 8mm and giving term for a part time one dimensional player. 6mm for 55 games is the equivalent of 8mm for a full season.

I said a month ago he’s maybe a 5mm player and was mocked for that opinion. I’d be hesitant to go more than 5x1. He had negative value to start the year at 7.6 and his value has arguably gone down.

He played 5 on 5 in 4 nations.

But when he puts on the red jersey, he forgets how?

One thing Team Finland has learned over the years, due to the dearth of talent playing in these tournaments, is how to make the most out of everybody.

Laine can score goals so he's used purely in that capacity. When we were down 4-1 against Canada we played a 5-minute shift with him and it nearly paid off. He's not really a guy you want on the ice when you're protecting a lead, but if you're chasing, he's one of those guys that can be a game breaker as long as you surround him with dudes who have hands. Powerplay and 6 on 5 situations especially.

The obsession of some fans feeling they are somehow entitled to information about a player's injury is a lot more moronic.
yeah, don't woory about the salaries you guys pay and the concessions, parking and all the other cash that goes into supporting teams and players

be content with the fact that the guy just can't perform when his team needs him the most because has has "flu like symptoms"----not necessarily the flu, just symptoms!

Some people want him to play through having the flu?!?! I'd want him far away from healthy teammates.
To be clear I don’t want him to play through the flu but my preference would be he plays more then 50% or the games. I think that’s reasonable.

This thread is a lot of talk about a guy that will play 48 games and have 32 points.

Patty should start by taking a few drops of this bad boy immediately after feeling his first flu symptoms:

Couple that with some ADHD meds and a 200 mg caffeine tablet in the morning, daily.

Take some melatonine in the evenings before bedtime to get a good deep sleep.

He's won international championships

Fair. I don't agree about the "disaster" doom and gloom, but I certainly wouldn't want to re-sign him at the same or greater cap hit based on the injury realities.

Arguably, Laine's injury is why we aren't a playoff lock right now & imo Guhle's injury is hurting us more than our C depth. We are thinner at top 4 D than at C.

Yes, we are in year 3 of a full rebuild.
Guys like Laine they won't work hard enough to make themselves great. Lacks great will to win.

No, I don't really want Laine on team. Long season and then 2 month grind of playoffs, I have no faith in him playing well to cup.

I can assure you guys that Id have multiple ways to keep Patty motivated, healthy and energized. None of those ways involve saliva exchange.
you sure?

i have him in 2 fantasy leagues.....you have no faith in him playing well----i have no faith in him playing AT ALL

There’s no denying Laine’s a big reason for our recent success. The sample size is large enough.

Record of 19-12-3 41 points out of 68 with Laine.
Record of 12-15-6 30 points out of 66 without Laine.

He has some inadequacy to his game but he brings some valuable scoring depth to our team. Hopefully he keeps improving and goes on another scoring hot streak to finish the season.
