All the more reason to have him on for full 2 minutes.

So you responded to fanfic with fanfic?

Noble.
I'd have the full first unit on for the full 2 minutes. That unit is fire. You've got three guys who can shoot the puck really well. Hutson is QB and Slaf getting in people's faces in front of the net. How many times has Hutson tee'd it up with a perfect feed and Laine rifles it home?

The only guy killing penalties on that unit is Suzuki and they could just cut that time back. Just keep them all out there.

I don't agree , I think Laine could spend the whole pp on the ice but Suzuki and Caufield are too important and the team isn't deep enough 5 on 5 to have them get gassed on powerplays

Caufield isn't used on the PK. We don't use him at the end of the game when we have a lead... same with Hutson, Laine and Slaf. All of those guys are amazing PP players. The only guy that would have to be managed is Suzuki.

Suzuki we could simply cut down his ice on the PK. Let Evans eat up more of that icetime.

Definitely.

Yeah double shifting Laine should definitely be tried. I don’t know if his cardio is there but it would be nice

He played like the last 5+ minutes straight at the end of Finland vs Canada game, 6 on 5

So a few 2 minute PP shifts shouldn't be a big issue.

Can this man recognize cause and effect?

According to the time Natural Stat Trick he didn't play in 5v5 too much, did not play in 4v4. He could easily play 4 minutes. The other thing is that your 2 PP Unit plays a completely different style, besides Matheson isn't as good a quarterback as Hutson. I don't think that makes any sense.

This is such a pretentious and uninformative plot.

Total cringe.

I don't understand where they saw an "altercation". Laine's skate blade gets messed up, he goes to get that fixed, breaks a stick in his frustration, gets back on the ice.

Am I missing something?
Breaking a stick in frustration because of a messed up skate blade seems pretty out of the ordinary. Not the typical reaction you would expect. We may lack some context.

Wouldn't be my reaction
His cardio shouldn’t matter considering he is standing still 99% of the time

True, his role is pretty static in the PP. But it works because the opponent has to cheat towards him or leave him open for a shot, so even him standing there is making the PP better. It gives room to the rest of the unit.

Men that guy don’t like to work

Should have scored in the 2nd but no desire to crash the net

Mike Hoffman 2.0
I feel like he's getting into a Dvorak situation where he can play well and yet play poorly for you. He rebounded very well, good forchecking. he didn't have turnovers, was even moving well, did not lose pucks at the boards, used his body. Only he played 7 minutes and something. That shows in the game picture for the viewer, but the stats say otherwise.

Top 6 forwards is our biggest need. Coming into the year, it looked like might be the future top 6:
Caufield Suzuki Slaf
Laine Dach Demidov

Now Laine and Dach seem to be on their way out of the picture. Hage may come in. But it will be interesting to se what HuGo do at the draft, the ufa market and the trade market to address the top 6 forward position.

Dach maybe, since you need the center and the wings in the bottom 6 are occupied. But why Laine? No one expected much from him this season, severe depression and knee injury just before the season are no joke. Raimo Summanen explained the problems, I think MSL knows the same. If you look at the stats, he's having trouble shooting too.
