Nothing will convince those who do not like him. Those who like him find many of the arguments of his critics unfounded. There is no third way, although many claim there is.
And Laine alone knows what the reality is.
So, for me at least, I see no reason to discuss his topic any further and perhaps block it.

Notice how some commentary excuses away Alex Newhook's pathetic performance this year (16pts in 53gp) but hyper-fixates on Laine (18pts in 25gp)?

In his LAST 25gp, the re-awakened, re-born, proved-'em-wrong Kirby Dach has 12pts in 25gp. Slafkovsky has 14pts in 25gp. Newhook has 10pts in 25gp. Gallagher, Anderson, and Dvorak each have 8pts in 25gp. Only Suzuki, Caufield, and Hutson have more than Laine in their last 25gp with 23, 23, and 18pts in 25gp respectively.

But the biggest problem with the team is Patrik Laine, right?

It's only one game. Against the sharks. But it would great if Newhook and Anderson could develop chemistry and play well together in a solid bottom six line. Those are the chairs both need to be in.

As for Laine, it's really important to find him the right chair. We need more than one top six line. Not sure it's with Evans and Armia. But worth a try. Can't wait to see Demidov-Laine. Though I would also like to see Caufield-Suzuki-Laine and Slaf-Dach-Demidov.

He’s a 3rd or 4 th liner, pp specialist. Keep his minutes low.

And again I point out that I am one of the biggest Laine fans, but the current state of his play is like being slapped in the face with a whale penis.

Oh man I can just feel that many hade that prediction/guess/assumption after seeing the line changes happen and are now getting the confirmation for it.

And I cant deny it. Newhook imo looked extremely good, he will be a valuable player if he can keep it up.

People liked to say that Kovalev only showed up one game in ten, and nonsense like that, but he averaged 65 pts / 82 games with the Habs, including a season with major injury.

You mean people like other NHL'ers?

Ok man, Kovalev tried one game in ten and averaged 65 points per 82 game in spite of having vertigo for some of that time.

If he had tried, he would have had 700 points seasons.

I know you're being a clown about it and that's alright but the truth is, that has always been his MO going back to New York. All the greats said Kovy was the most talented player they came across but he didn't love hockey, he was just great at it.

If Kovalev didn't love hockey why did he keep playing in the Swiss-B league? Or better yet, why did he start coaching for a obscure Chinese hockey team?

Someone wouldn't be doing all these things if they didn't love the game and it certainly wasn't because of money.

He always said he wanted to keep playing until he was 50 and if it wasn't because of injuries I think he would have continued.
