And the centre for him
I think it may be Suzuki. But it will be interesting to see how far back Dach can come, and how good Demidov will be next year. And then long term Hage is an option. Even Evans, kapanen. And Beck... there will be a lot of options...

I always thought Laine was faster. Am I crazy?
From my POV from following Laine closely since he was 16, he was fast until that one off-season when he added a lot of muscle. I cant remember the exact year (most likely 2018 or 2019) but to me he was like a different guy physically and speedwise after that. Sure, he became harder to knock off the puck but he also became much slower.

Btw Laine should grow a beard....he has a bit of that viking warrior look and he would look so much more badass and awesome with a beard. I mean something like this :

This is true btw, we Finns really hate the Swedes when it comes to hockey. The hatred is though much more than that. From early age Finnish guys learn that all Swedish guys are gay (I am just stating this for cultural reference, not as a fact), and then when you add the history between the countries and then you add hockey competition, the feelings towards Swedes just manifests into hate. Swedes on the other hand dont really care about the Finns, meaning that Finns are just people or a country or a team among others.

He's got the chin pubes thing going for him when he grows his beard...not ideal
It was still a pretty cool look for him on the ice. The issue was that it looked quite weird when he wasnt on the ice. And he grew it after being challenged to grow it by his cousin or similar. So I dont think he really enjoyed it, nor will grow it again.

On ice: manly man
Off ice: a hillbilly

True but it’s different for a guy who’s 5’10 under 200 to deke and maneuver between players than a 6’4 220 guy. That’s quite a bit bigger.
Suzuki is in fact 5’11 tall and weighs 212 lbs, while Laine is 6’5 tall and weighs 216 lbs. So they weigh almost the same and Laine is much taller. I would say that in many situations the reach will give an advantage to the taller guy if both guys have pretty good hands. So I’m not sure how much easier it is really to move between players if you have about the same weight and less of reach if both players are not extremely fast on their skates.

Those were the days…
He looked like he‘s cooking meth and Kyle Connor looked like his best customer…

That doesn't sound right. Not only is Laine way taller but he is also a big boy. There is no way they have such a small difference in weight.

That’s why they call him “thick Nick”. lol
And Laine’s pretty lean.

Suzuki is not fast either
It’s relative.

This season, he has a higher top speed than CC, Laine, Slaf and Newhook. (Newhook by a hair)

Dach fastest of top 6 group.
