It's the polar opposite of that: When games does not matter, Laine quits. That's also what he said before Werenski & others took offence with no reason.

Sorry to disturb this silly feel-good thread with facts.

He is just Mulletmanning us.

I'm trying to imagine coming into a thread I consider to be a Mulletman level thread but still being serious lol

Talking about being serious, an update to Laine's win-streak stat:
- Laine's win-streak continues after last nights Colorado-game which he missed due to being fatigued!

The actual win-streak stays at 6. Unless we consider him a part of this win, for example due to him rooting and high-fiving his teammates in the dressing room in-between periods.

So a win counts if he doesn't play but high fives teammates, but when he actually played against Columbus and lost that doesn't count as a loss? What's the difference? He was hiding in the locker room in both games.

You just don't get it do you?

It is nice to see your username is also inspired by Laine though.

We have an answer to the question posed in OP. Laine's win streak might not be enough to keep this thread active. I dont wanna do the crime of self-moderating but I hereby understand fully if this thread is locked.

Thanks for your enthusiasm and involvement guys!

This thread is 100% bait by a troll who made his account after Laine pissed off a lot of people with his comments about Columbus. Pay no attention to this guy.
The timeline fits, but not the reason. Ive been lurking on these boards for close to 15 years and never made an account. Patty getting a hot start at Montreal and their awesome and active inclusive fan base here made me start my account. Im a huge Laine fan that much is true.

It’s just a hilarious thread, that has zero meaning,

This guy has played 6 games in a row in which he won, that is if we don’t count the games he missed or the games he partially played in. 🤣, it has to be a satire thread, no one would seriously make this a thread.

The one poster had it right, thinking it was a mulletman thread.

This is my first thread and I feared that the original title and focus on only a specific general stat wouldnt garner any attention and/or discussion, so I decided to combine the stat idea/question with Patty's current statistically supported win streak.

I didnt mean to hurt any feelings. Sorry if I managed to do so.

And yes Ive been a huge Mulletman-thread fan since he started around 2013. I suppose some of his traits and/or habits have been rubbed on me as well. I intend to not be Mulletman nr 2 though, he is a one and only type of guy imo. Its like someone trying to learn the Laine-shot, it just isnt gonna work.

I thought this thread is about patrick laine, why are all the comments about the leafs?

I guess toronto really is the center of the hockey universe

Leaf fans can't comment on a topic without someone relating it to being superior to the Leafs playoff record in some way, and thus non fans who claim to hate talking Leafs can't help themselves it appears

It’s ok Patrik, people here would rather mock than discuss hockey. You’re doing good.

If you're a fan you wouldn't make obvious bait threads in his name, that you 100% know will cause a negative reaction.

On a more serious note, why are Montreal fans getting mad at the Leafs? 😂

I know many comments have been deleted, but Montreal's overall obsession with Toronto has hit new highs based on some of these quotes.

This transcends the Leafs if you understand the history and current dynamics of Canada right now.

But I don't wanna hurt any feelings so I'll just say.

Good luck Patrick and I hope this spring in Florida treats you well.

regardless of new highs, the "obsession" doesn't even remotely approach leafs fans obsessions wth the habs. It would be so much fun to make the playoffs in year 3 of a rebuild just to face the leafs.
The collective squeaky bums on here would cause leafs fans to wear diapers

Teams that grew tired of Laine's Xbox and shitty attitude since 2016 - 2. Laine will wear out his welcome in la belle province before long. He always does.
There's only 1.5 years left to his contract... Not a big deal.

The topic here was clearly started by a troll, and you all assumed it was a Leafs fan. If that doesn’t literally define the point I’m making, I don’t know what else does.

Also, I was referring the Toronto-Montreal (Ontario-Quebec) historic rivalry, not about
the Leafs and Habs. One city seems to be on the up and up, the other seems stuck in 1976. Hence the obsession.

I’ll just leave it at that.

Both teams are stuck in their glory years, except one hasn't done shit in 58 years. And one went to a cup final just 4 years ago. Now before you dismiss that accomplishment, we both know if the Leafs had gone to the cup, Toronto would have held celebrations for 6 months, and several what if documentaries would've already been produced on par with the leafs 1993 "achievement".

In terms of cities, that's a low blow and speaks more to both your insecurities and ignorance.
I'm not going to get into a pissing contest about both cities.
I spend a lot of time in Toronto for work and really like the city.
1976? You referencing the Olympics? not entirely sure your point, but you rarely have - or have never visited Montreal.
Montreal is still a great city, regardless of Legault's stupidity.
Not unlike Doug Ford's idiocy.
Anyway back to Patrik Laine. Good trade by Hughes.

Hopefully see you in the playoffs. That would be fun

So here we are again, a Habs fan talking about the Leafs in a topic that has NOTHING to do with the Leafs. Thank you once again for proving my point about Habs fans being obsessed with the Leafs.

Yes, one hasn’t done anything in 60 odd years and yet are still the most popular team in professional ice hockey, forget the NHL. I think that’s what irks you folks so much.

Umm…the Leafs, Argos, Jays and Raptors (throw in TFC for fun) all combined have held more parades than any other city in Canada. Relax. I’m glad you think the COVID Invitational was an accomplishment, let me know when the banner raising ceremony is.

Cool story. Not really a low blow, just telling it like it is. The Habs fans obsession with the Leafs really stems from Montreal’s overall obsession with Toronto and the fact Toronto surpassed Montreal in every socioeconomic metric….the Habs are literally the last thing you all have left.

Lets be real, GTA is a shitshow rn as well. Canada as a whole has really fallen off, but GTA area has some issues that Montrealers are probably not dealing with as much of.

This is like some Special Olympics gymnastics event going on right here.

You're correct. You've painted quite the portrait of Toronto and Toronto sports teams being fantastic and at the centre of all of Canadian fandom and folklore.
Montrealers are obsessed with Toronto. Thanks for telling it like it is. Bathe in that smugness.
