Definitely a greater willingness to admit them and seek treatment. 100%.Hope he gets the help he needs
Wonder if the seeming recent increase in players entering the program is due to an increase in problems, a greater willingness to admit they have them and seek treatment or a bit of both
That and just getting hurt all the time. Can't be easy.Could be related to his father passing away two years ago.
Could also be residual effects from the pandemic, as a lot of them had to go through a lot of stress to play in those conditions. Plus not being able to see family for a long time.Hope he gets the help he needs

For sure, that’s something I would include in the increase in problems category. There’s been an increase in mental health and addiction problems in the general population since the pandemic. It would make sense we see that trend with players as well but presumably it’s also being destigmatized and guys who wouldn’t have gotten help before are willing to nowCould also be residual effects from the pandemic, as a lot of them had to go through a lot of stress to play in those conditions. Plus not being able to see family for a long time.
He gets hurt alot because he's not dedicated to his fitness. When Gary Roberts had to retire due to neck injuries, he took time off and figured out his fitness, recovery, nutrition. Became a guru. Then he came back and played many more years until his 40s. Hopefully Laine finds something like that....or he finds Roberts even!
Yes, it was not easy on many.Could also be residual effects from the pandemic, as a lot of them had to go through a lot of stress to play in those conditions. Plus not being able to see family for a long time.
I think it's very much a combination of those. On the anniversary of his father's death he posted something that made it clear it still hurts him. That and just getting hurt all the time. Can't be easy.
Andersson's pride was hurt much more than any physical injury he could bestow upon another human. His team was about to go down 4-1 in a regular season game in October, you can't imagine the scrutiny he would've gotten had he not jumped at Laine's head.Oh yeah, maybe he could develop a sense of humility too. 3-1 Columbus with 10 seconds left, maybe he could not have such arrogance to pad his stats and get the empty-netter leaving him vulnerable to getting popped by Anderson.
Does the sun not ever shine in Columbus?
